General Gameplay Requests to EA

First request: That a permanent thread of this nature be somewhere prominent in the Forums
My Game requests:
-be able to put cars on the road, planes on the runway, etc.
-for fences to take up no squares, just the lines
-to be able to filter jobs: for instance, send everyone on their shortest/longest animated job, or send all jobs using couples or groups on their tasks (Homer and marge romantic walk, interrogate a squealer, etc.)
-In edit mode, it would be nice to have a few 'undo's
-When a certain task is required by a specific number of characters, once that number of jobs are in progress, please remove the yellow text and return the jobs lists to normal for the remaining applicable characters
-please keep all animated jobs that don’t travel but are not connected to a building visible, at least wherever possible. Super annoying when they walk right behind a building to do their job for 12 hrs.
-Please Please Please let us start picking our monorail pieces once we’ve got all three stations. I’ll trade all 50 of my curved pieces and 48 of my swerve pieces for just one straight piece, of which I currently have exactly 0.
-It would also be nice if it would automatically remove some of the track pieces' posts just to make what's behind them more visible. I have a few long stretches of 2-square track segments whose posts look like jail bars underneath
-Please Please Please let us unload some of the Springfield Heights buildings. There’s no way I’m going to waste space on that side on more of those as land gets more expensive on the main side.
-And as always, let us zoom out farther (this has to be the one of the most common requests, no?). My Springfield is huge and years in the making and I want a better view.

  • It's all been covered. Except, maybe that animated jobs one.

    Agree with most. It will happen if it happens. I don't think EA will listen to our requests...
  • My wants list would be much shorter, although it would include your cars, fences, and monorail pieces requests... plus:
    - If not a search function for inventory and town hall, then perhaps alphabetical quick-navigate links along the top;
    - Maybe it's time to make it possible to remove (or move) the mountains between Springfield and Springfield Heights? The tunnel glitch showed that they're really superfluous, anyway, and it would answer the next wave of pleas for land;
    - A snapshot feature that takes a snap of the whole town and can be shared to email, etc.

    Honestly, for as long as this game has been active and as difficult as it is to implement new ideas within old coding, I have to give props to EA for how they've managed it.

    You don't have to have the SH buildings visible. Just build them once to get the initial real estate value, and then store them. Or level up one at a time and then store them to make space for another.

    He probably means for the hidden xp multiplier. They do have to be out for it to apply
  • Re: SH buildings, I know I can store them (they are), but I don't even want them stored anymore. I've got plenty of those buildings built already, and I know I'm not going to want to use that (or any) space for more. I'm just sick of having to swipe past all of them to get to one bush or tree. This goes for monorail station pieces also, and probably even track pieces if they keep giving me this many 'curves' and 'swerves' to so few 'straights.' Just too much stuff that I'll never use but can't get rid of. Maybe better navigation would solve all of this.

    Most SH buildings have a multiplier attached that is not visible in your regular multiplier in the conform o meter screen. It only applies to xp not cash. See the folowing post for more info, specificly the 4th table down

  • The problem with selling SH buildings would be that they would also have to adjust your REV, otherwise you could just go into a buy/sell loop to get to the max quicker. Then, if they did adjust your REV and you went under one of the reward levels, it could lead to problems if you went back up and it tried to award you the prize again (or they would have to remove the prize or something). It should be doable, but probably more of a pain than the developers feel it's worth.
  • @HappyGamer73 Well, I may be changing my tune just a bit now that I know there's at least some value to them as opposed to being inert space fillers, but even so, I'm not talking about selling, I'm asking them to let me delete them. All my land is getting way more expensive, and I'm definitely getting near the item limit threshold. And that, combined with the fact that both cash and xp mean a lot less to me (long since reached the level up limit, and there's only two big cash purchases for me left), even with some bonus value, I'm not going to use all of those buildings when I'll want the space (both the land and item allowance) for upcoming games. Cheers, and thx for the reply!
    PS: This might be best solved by allowing us to have some organizational capacity on our desktops, not unlike how you can organize the icons on your iPhone via iTunes. If I could stick all the stuff I'll never use at the end, or even archive them out of sight until I want them, that'd work just fine.
