But if it does, my concern for those who are not meeting that timing is that, if they need the prize (eg, clownface, in this case) to trigger the pie-throwing mechanism in issue 2, theyll fall back further and further with each level. This is pure opinion, not based on knowledge, but on history.

I think this is correct and it uses the same sort of reasoning I did except I was thinking about comic books,
I.e. everyone starts issue one as soon it is released but if you finish it straight away you have to wait until the next issue is released before continuing or if your not done with the first comic your obviously not going to start the second comic on the day its released instead you finish issue one and the get issue two when it suits you. Once again this is just opinion and not fact
