I just came across the weirdest tip, but it really does make a difference.While it won't help you, you can help your neighbours if you have the Gingerbread Simpsons sitting on their couch.Visit any town with them on the couch and there's nothing to tap.Tap the couch in your town to make them scarper, leaving just the couch ( you don't even have to store it ) and suddenly they'll have buildings to tap.I have no clue why such a simple thing would cause such a drastic glitch, but it does. I've got two towns running on two devices so I've tested and tested.Hopefully EA can figure out why, but in the meantime you can help your friends.

Yeah... I covered that and some related issues in my post over in the Answers forum. So EA knows, they just haven't done anything about it.

@wadebear - I just read your thread, and you'd covered quite a few items in your research to try to get to the bottom of things. Hopefully because this only mentions one state of one item, clearly and simply, EA will now know precisely what the cause is. Knowing what is only the start though, they now need to work out why it causes the problem and then they can try to figure out how to fix it. That might not be straightforward.Meanwhile everyone . . .Help your friends and get those Gingerbread Simpsons off the couch.

I can confirm that it works. Cleared off the gingerbread Simpsons (they were tasty) and checked all five towns. All now have buildings to be tapped. Thank you Graham-S

To avoid confusion - my A town has just about everything.
The only thing I changed was the couch.
No-one sitting on it = buildings to tap for neighbours.
Gingerbread Simpsons seated = nothing for neighbours to tap.
No other item was added, removed or changed. Not one.
It's worked for everyone I'm aware has made this one simple change.

Springfield Heights issues would probably be better dealt with in a separate post to this.

To those who've read this and done something I thank you.
For those who read this and understood it and still left those cursed Gingerbread Simpsons sitting out in plain sight despite knowing the havoc and heartbreak it would cause to all those you invited or accepted as neighbours I say this - how could you !!
I bet you're the kind of people that leave Side Show Bob on a one hour quest constantly, and revel in his being repeatedly whacked in the face by a rake :)
