It should be quite easy to fix how the game registers that you've done all the tasks so you don't overshoot:
*They could program all tasks to end once that tree level is done.
*They could make each fertiliser "fertiliser - *level*" rather than a generic item that would roll over to the next level-up. That way, even if you earnt more it wouldn't help the next level anyway.
There's 2 methods off the top of my head right there.
Obviously the programmers are busy with this event's fixes ATM, but hopefully they fix the underlying issue soon. I ain't resetting back a fortnight just for this - Support took long enough to get back to me, just to tell me to post in the forums (*facepalm*).
