No, it's just this item AFAIK. What he was saying is that the whale has a higher %-boost per donut than the ship does, but the ship also earns $/h while the whale doesn't. Of course, it's not worth it purely for the %, you can do much better getting a fleet of jet bikes. But if you actually want it as a decoration, then the fact it earns both % and $ might tip you over into buying it.

Yes that is exactly what I was saying. The whale is the closest comparison I can think of to the ghost ship, and I think in the long run the ghost ship is better as far as the return.

even without a multiplier, i would have bought it IF i could have put it in my harbor. oh well, i guess i dont need to waste donuts on it

How come I didn't get no quest line to purchase the pirate ship I thought it auto triggers

You're right, it should be. But it's been confirmed by several people who bought it and tested it in their towns. See some of the earlier posts in this thread.
