- Overall it is worth it to just pay for the donuts themselves. I got 20 donuts on my last golden, but normally it is only 6 or 9. Up to you but I would just pay for the donuts instead of a ticket.
- If I average it based off of $10 for 132 donuts, that is roughly 13 donuts per buck. Is there a chart on the winnings from these tickets and the odds?
- I did it not long ago and ended up about 10 donuts or so down from an outright purchase of the same amount
Edit: In saying that I'm considering buying another 1 or 2 soon - At this point I've never gotten more than a dozen donuts. I'm done with them.

I have done the calculations before based on the odds of getting each outcome, and the average donuts per golden scratcher you will win over the long term is exactly 13.2 donuts per card. So, in theory buying the 132 donuts for $10 is just as good as buying 10 scratchers, although with the scratchers you obviously have a chance to end up with more or less than your expected outcome of 132 depending on luck.teo47 wrote:

I kinda figured this was the case. Hell I've wasted 10 bucks on worse things before. I'll buy 10 bucks worth and post the results here when I do.MISTER ZOMBEE wrote:
If you generally have good luck with Scratch-Rs, you might win significantly more than you would receive if you bought donuts outright. For me, screw the Golden Scratch-Rs, my luck stinks.
I'm about to put another 10 bucks into the game. But before I buy 132 donuts, I am considering buying the scratchers instead. I am a gambler for sure. SO the thought of extending my 10 bucks a bit sounds great.
How have you all done with the scratchers? Are they a good way to get more for your buck?
I'd love to hear some stories. And I also know we all have some good stories. :)- I went overboard with scratchcards the other day and bought 20. I ended up with about 530 donuts as I got a few high winning cards. That's a lot more than the 300 had I bought the truckload for the same cost.

I read something...I'm sure it was somewhere here on the forum...about strategies for buying donuts. It basically said if you are going to spend less than $5 then the scratchers are worth it because you're more likely to end up with more donuts than you would if you just bought them. But if you're going to spend more than $5 then to just buy donuts because you'll probably come out with less donuts.
Yep, but the break even point is $10, at which point your expected outcome is the same either way. When spending more than $10, you should buy the fixed amount of donuts. When spending less than $10, you are better off buying scratchers.teo47 wrote:

I was just about to say that
