He made a brief statement that this has been too long to read, which can be considered constructive advice by some, and you are making a very detailed and elaborate effort in to labelling him a troll for it even after he apologized for it? You can bet I'll excuse his behaviour. If troll labelling weren't so unstoppably common on this forum it would be your behaviour that I wouldn't excuse. I'm just stating my opinion that I disagree with you. Continue to badger him about it, and I'll do more than just disagree.

It is laughable for you to imply that his post was intended to be "constructive" criticism. My elaborate effort is in proportionate defense of the OP who clearly made a passionate, personal, and well thought out post only to immediately be met with ignorant, forum nonsense.
For the record, I had called truce and moved on.

Sometimes too long to read is just too long to read. I don't think this makes Maxx a troll for pointing out.
Nice to see a mod excusing trollish behavior.
 Oh, how dare you.

Okok.. I must admit. This is a funny gif. :)- Thoroughly enjoyed your post, emymarek. I'm older, but most of those things amazed me as well. (Recent story I heard. Kid telling his mom about a new cell phone accessory. A long cord to attach the phone to the wall. So the phone is always in the same place. You'd always know where the phone is. Plus you can leave it attached to the wall while you're talking). . :)
On the topic of appreciating things that are free ... I'm in agreement ... But in THIS case, the complaints weren't about that. They were over the expectation that a game -- free or not -- ought to be FAIR.
Setting aside the whole odds on gambling issue ...
What had most of us upset were things that would have bothered even my generation. A game process that, when followed, sent us over a cliff. No warning that EA would accept real money for a basket that vanished without warning. In 65 years, I have NEVER seen that occur.
No warning that finishing the optional quest stopped baskets from coming -- theres that cliff. Also no clue given by EA of the guaranteed number of boxes to win characters, and the list goes on. ALL of those things were only discovered by us because we happen to be in this small forum, with a couple people to sneak into EAs code.
The complaints were not about a free game that we should be grateful. The complaints were about an unfair game. That's something that didn't start with this generation. If we're invited to play a game, we expect it to be fair. Whether it was kids playing street football for free during our childhoods, or a game that costs money. We expect it to be playable and reasonably winnable. Real life isn't fair. That's why we play games. We want to escape from real life. In the play world we want fair. amcevil wrote:

Its not even the change. Its the fact that people have spend money on this game and just keep getting really lousy prizes. The overall way this whole event was made was just really made for one purpose. Making as much money as possible.
Perhaps so, but the odds on prizes and cost in donuts for eggs were a known quantity. I also think this game was made for one overall purpose - making money. So I definitely agree with you on the fact that the event was designed with same goal in mind.
I take serious issue with the part I bolded above. "Were a known quantity" to whom? Because we are a microscopic portion of the millions of TSTO players. That phrase is worded in a way to imply it was general knowledge. If I misinterpreted it, my apologies in advance!
How can you say the odds on prizes were known? Where did EA publish the odds on prizes? I must have missed that. I thought our guys found it in the code. Are we assuming that the millions of players out there know how to get into the code?
Where did EA publish the fact that the prizes were guaranteed at 81 boxes so i would know the quantity of donuts to spend? I thought our guys found that in the code.
Other secrets EA kept from us ...
Where did EA publish that Shary Bobbins could not be won until 20 boxes? Even more outrageous -- why was she shown as a choice in the gold box when I opened my first 20 gold boxes, even though she could not be won until after those?
Where did EA publish that the baskets -- the ones from their store, which they sold for real money -- would evaporate?. I thought we discovered that the hard way.
We need to stay aware of the fact that we happen to be privy to information not available as general knowledge.- To those who took my post seriously, thank you. I just ignore those who have nothing nice to say. It's just another example of disrespect. (If THIS is too long to read, then I'll never have to worry about someone like you leaving a critique on Amazon! Clearly, books are beyond your word limit.)
As for there being, "no such thing as a free game," let's be honest - that's only if you decide to pay for it. I've enjoyed a number of free games and have never spent a cent. I'd simply stop short of hitting the verification button.
And to those who've explained your annoyances without using an argumentative tone, thank you. I have not experienced some of the problems you've outlined, although I have once or twice, so I respect your frustration as far as the Easter glitches go. I do! But you have to admit, general complaining didn't start with the Easter update. The complaints have only worsened. Go back several weeks, even months, and you'll see what I mean. Why else do you hear, "It's better than complaining!" during gameplay? These complaints have been going on for quite some time, and the games developers are well aware of it. Unfortunately, it's not just an Easter thing, which is why I wrote this post. The forums are riddled with them! - OP, thanks for your thoughtful input. I'm old enough to remember life before the computer revolution. And you're right we should all remember and appreciate that this is a freemium game. I think what bothered me about this event was the gambling aspect. I've been playing since Oct. 2012 and it used to be that you would earn the prizes by lots of tapping or using donuts to help speed things up. I spent real money on this event and didn't get all the prizes (first time not getting everything). I realize it's my choice to spend real money but I do expect the prizes when I do. This event was impossible for most players. Next event I won't be spending cash, I've learned my lesson. I will still keep playing because I love the game :D

I agree with you. As far as this particular event, clearly there have been unfair issues. I hope you see that I'm not arguing that point. I can see why there are those people who have grown frustrated with this particular update. And maybe, hopefully, EA will take note. These are valid complaints!
I just wanted to make sure that those who have read my post realize that I'm talking about complaining, in general, and not singling this event out. :)drumnman wrote:

You're right. There is a lot complaining about minor things in this forum. I usually try to ignore the negativity. Though there is a lot of fun stuff on here too. Even with this event I did get a lot of items I love and will enjoy putting into my design.
