I remember getting our first TV with a remote control! Dad was in his GLORY!! LOL!!
I wish my son would play this with me. We play other games together, but I'm The Simpsons fan.
You had remote controls??

P.S. We didn't get a microwave until I was well in high school.- jimmyw31Seasoned NewcomerI'm a freemium player, and I was happy to win what I did during the event. I can appreciate the frustration players who spent money on this event might feel, especially if they didn't win what they wanted. I think we can all agree that "getting what you pay for" is fair, and the chanced based event took that concept out of the equation unless you were willing to pay/buy enough donuts to spin the required # of times to be guaranteed those prizes.
It'd be like paying $5 to pump gas into your car for a random amount of time. If I pay the $5, I might randomly get to pump gas for 1 minute, but someone else might pay their $5 for a chance and only get to pump for 15 seconds. Sure, we could both just keep paying $5 for randomly generated amounts of time to pump gas until our tanks were full, and eventually, if we payed enough, we would be guaranteed to get a full tank. But it might cost me a total of $30 and someone else $60 to get the same amount of gas in our tanks. Who wins in that situation? The guys who own the pump (EA), because some are going to end up paying a lot more than others for the same stuff (except in the game, people are choosing to pay for those chances or not, and those that are are not satisfied, and rightfully so, with the fact that they aren't getting what they pay for). I think it's very understandable, but it is also the main reason I refused to spend any money on the event. drumnman wrote:

LOL!!! The remote controls came after high school, and so did the "affordable" microwave, which took up most of the kitchen and was ugly as sin.
We did have a cable box with a sliding controller that was attached to the TV. (Mid-80s.) It *almost* made it to the couch... But not quite. We still had to get up.
But still, we had HBO!! Now, THAT was a treat!! Even though I was old enough to watch everything on the station, my parents were too embarrassed to watch anything with me in the room, so they made me leave. :wink:wickedlittle wrote:
Would you be an ingrate if you were discontented that Pong decided to make you open 100 boxes (2 a day free, or $30 dollars up front) before you got a paddle?
Before I answer this mind-blowing question, let me just say that, if you had read the entire thread, you'd realize that I had agreed with those who were frustrated with certain parts of the Easter update, so you're beating a dead horse. HOWEVER, this complaining has been going on FAR LONGER than this update. Check the threads. You'll know it's true. So I'm not going to continue to argue the point. It's been made.
But as far as THIS question is concerned... I wouldn't allow myself to grow discontented with PONG. Why? Because I had far more important things to do than to hit a square ball back-and-forth, with a 'paddle'. (I had NO PROBLEM putting it aside and never giving it another thought.) Never mind that it was PONG, for crying out loud! It was neat, but no one cared THAT much. Besides, if it didn't come with a paddle, the game would be worthless. And who in their right mind would buy the game on the off-chance that it 'might' come with a paddle depending on how many boxes you open? Absolutely no one. If it didn't have a paddle, no one would buy it. So this question doesn't even make sense!
Besides, the same does NOT hold true for this game. Opening up a box, or not opening up a box, has no bearing on the playability of this game, whatsoever. Even if you never won a thing, you could still play the game. So this is a moot point.- While it is a generalization, having worked the past decade with kids of all ages, I have seen a definitive shift. There is a sense of entitlement, lack of accountability and an overall mindset of, I want what I want, I want it now, and in the easiest way possible.
I'm sure everyone doesn't meet that definition, but a lot of what gets posted here does.
Then again it really isn't a surprise...
Maybe this is what happens when you don't allow scores in little league games. Have no trophies for field day, instead giving every kid a ribbon that says "if you had fun today you won". Or having your Mom go to the school and complain/blame a teacher for her kid getting a bad grade instead of facing the root of the problem (exs of things ive seen)...
I try to co e here for news, but I usually wind up frustrated reading the posts. I have to remember there are more, more civil sites dedicated to the game.
I enjoyed the event despite not getting 3 of the main prizes. The way I see it, if they were easy to get they wouldn't be special.
I'd still be playing it had my game not updated automatically today....hey....maybe I should sue EA because its not fair other people are still playing Easter...I at least better go starta thread to complain, because I need my anger validated. :p wickedlittle wrote:
And um this!? EA is not our teenage girlfriend, Instagramming selfies of them pouting because we hurt their feelings. They are a multi-national, multi-million or billion dollar consumer based company who should want feedback from loyal customers so they can keep the cash flowing in.
Wait... what? Instagramming who? How is that relevant to the conversation?
Listen, we're not even on the same page. If you are a paying customer and spent money on this event, then I can see why you are frustrated, as I had mentioned in several posts. (If you had cared to read them.) But I think you want to argue just for the sake of arguing.
Like I said, that point has already been made.rymflaherty wrote:

Agreed! It's so sad to see how schools h ave taken the fun out of competition. And not just schools! Even in professional teams! We're so afraid of teaching kids that, if you work hard, and train hard, you can win! That 'w' word has almost become a 4-letter word! It's so sad.Godbless598 wrote:
My father loved the remote too.
What makes playing the game with my son, is we don't have a tv, having had one for 22years. I rather read then watch tv. The kids adjusted to doing other things then watch tv. So I find it amusing, I must be the only person playing this game, who never watched the show lol
Honestly, if we didn't have a TV, I wouldn't miss it, either. There are so many things to do! I rarely watch it.- I'm not reading all that. Good lord. Lol!

Sometimes too long to read is just too long to read. I don't think this makes Maxx a troll for pointing out.
Nice to see a mod excusing trollish behavior.
 Oh, how dare you.
He made a brief statement that this has been too long to read, which can be considered constructive advice by some, and you are making a very detailed and elaborate effort in to labelling him a troll for it even after he apologized for it? You can bet I'll excuse his behaviour. If troll labelling weren't so unstoppably common on this forum it would be your behaviour that I wouldn't excuse. I'm just stating my opinion that I disagree with you. Continue to badger him about it, and I'll do more than just disagree.
Though I would not use the word troll, the person who said too long to read, could have said it better.
