I think it's great when people are able to get donuts and take advantage of these deals. I think buying premium stuff can really add to the fun of the game and paying for a game you love to play makes the game better for all of us by encouraging more game development.
However, this is NOT a great deal. In terms of donuts", 50 sounds like a lot. But, when you look at the cost per donut in real money terms, the savings are pretty pitiful. Of course, the price of each donut changes depending on which package you get when you buy them in the first place. The absolute most you pay for 1 donut is 16.5 cents, if you buy the 12 for 1.99. Of course, if you have 0 donuts and want this Gil deal, you would buy the 300 for 19.99 at a cost of 6.6 cents per donut. At that price, a savings of 50 donuts is only a savings of 3.33 cents in terms of real actual Dollars spent. If you bought a boatload for 2400 at 99.99, you savings is only 2 measley dollars. Theses are savings that most people in day to day life don't even notice.
I'm not saying to not take advantage of a deal if you really want all the items in the deal, cheaper is cheaper. And if you have been saving all of your donuts through leveling up, then of course, jump at the deal! But if you are on the fence about spending the money now on these items that will always be available, it's good to keep in mind what the real world savings are.
Sorry if this has been shared, just my 2 cents.
