The random tasks from the red box in your notebook!

the moment your clear a handshake comes another task and if your lucky and left space during characters with same time you never have to wait very long to clear the next.

Like this i had 3 times 120 and 1h wait till the next finisch :P

Based on my chart I have 1 day ahead now :wink:

Just make sure that people with the SAME task is 5 min or more in between, if your lucky you have 2 complete task done in 2 min 120 x 2

And then maybe 1 h waiting instead of waiting 8 or 16h

Its important that you split the groups and the group with same task leave time inbetween so you can constandly clear handshakes and get those 120 shovels each time.

I don't have this "red box" in my notebook. Does it come along after a certain point?

it (the tool bar red box) appeared sometime in the past 8 hours, I didn't notice the popup only noticed it when I was exploring for this thread) (after levelling up to level 3, after sheology pt 2?, my first random task is feed the hungry the 16 hour corn task) I'd placed a character on this task at 4am, was it in response to this popup? I don't know...fwiw, I wouldn't place multiple characters in the 16 hour job as I'm swimming in corn and need fertilizer to level up. If the random task alwats rewards spades I'll report back (in 8 hours)

if my next red box toolbar task is shorter Ill try the spacing thing but frankly the 16 hour task isn't one I want to send ppl on. (I sent one to clear it and hope for better

4500 spades now :P

Make sure if you send them all on 16h task leave space between them even 1h in between if the task comes back again if you do that with all people you dont have to wait so long. :wink:

in summary because things got confusing

at some point, the game will start assigning you random toolbar tasks (a red toolbox in the toolbar like Grampas tell a story task--not the daily tasks, not the questline tasks)(for me it happened sometime this morning around mutant sheology being completed.)


each random task completed should drop shovels (is that right, op?)

when you get a random task,see how many people can do it/see if someone is already doing it

reenter your town close to when the random task should complete, clear only the random task, hopefully you'll have some time between regular task completions and random tasks, resynch your town, hope for a random task 2 that you already have ppl on,and repeat.

the issue for me (still collecting corn fertilizer for level 5) is that everyone is on the 4/8hour corn fertilizer tasks and they are well synched up (within a minute or so) for me I don't think the extra shovels are worth the time staggering (I mean, I might get lucky but I don't think it's plannable

ok this is what I figured out, the random task first appears in your tool bar after you drop seeds on a neighbor (complete mutant sheology part 2), when I went back into my town I got the dialogue about SideShowBob but no exclamation point popup window, just the icon snuck onto my toolbar (it's a red toolbox rectangle thing)

in three games I've seen the first random task be the 16 hour corn earning task and one of the shorter fertilizer or corn jobs, these are all tasks I would be running anyway.

basically the random task is just ensuring people are sending characters on the corn fertiler earning tasks (& even though I dislike the 16 hour task length, I'll keep Quimby on jt since he doesn't have a shorter one

when you enter your town, see how long you have on the random task, clear it and then resynch your town before you clear the slightly later ones (maybe you'll get a followup job that you can clear in a minute or so)

the op suggested that you space the corn fertilizer tasks out with a larger time gap but frankly I try to minimize time in town (& want to get corn fertilizer faster than spades)

Remember to use this tradegy you have to have time, tonight i have to work but then 7 days home with a couple away, but when you spread them you never have to wait long. Hope you guys have also lucky :D
