Handshakes & atom (yellow signs)

As the event gets further along, you should get all atom signs, the handshakes are coming from your neighbors who aren't far enough along with the event yet.

Thank you, that's what I thought but I swear I had 1 atom & 2 handshakes from the same neighbour. Maybe I imagined it as I have a couple of neighbours with similar names. Will keep a better eye out when I collect next.

You can also collect from all your buildings, this will have no affect on neighbours leaving atom signs.
(Obviously with the exception of neighbours who aren't at that part yet)

I didn't keep track but I definitely had both handshakes and atoms on a few buildings. Maybe it appears differently to neighbors with and without the update. So if a neighbor with it taps your building's phone icon, that icon doesn't display for the other neighbor without the update and the building still looks tappable.

Just a theory.

I think you may be right - I had 3 handshakes all from the same neighbour this morning. The rest were atom signs.

Could this be that someone visited once to get their town clock started, then came back once they had upgraded, therefore you would have a handshake and an atom?

i thought that if you collected from your buildings, they wouldn't show up as "tappable" to visiting neighbors? is that no longer the case? can we collect, and the only buildings that show up as untappable to our neighbors are ones that have actually been visited by other neighbors?

So far I only seem to have atom signs on buildings that I have tapped so there's no $ sign/cash register/menu. The hand shakes are coming come Simpsons house, Krusty burger & brown houses that I leave untapped for neighbours or that regenerate after I have tapped.
It's just a guess but i think we are better off tapping all our buildings so that neighbours taps on phones produce atoms instead of handshakes. I've also noticed that I've had a handshake & an atom on the same building so again just a guess that 2 neighbours have tapped the same building.
Then you need to tap the atom as soon as poss so that the phone is available for the next neighbour (also I've read the quicker you clear your atom signs the more you get but I haven't been able to work out if this is correct yet)

If I'm correct I can hopefully get lots more money built up in my bank during this event. :)

The hard thing is after the event, you will still want to collect all income and tap the gangsters wearing black suits thinking you'll get something.

What do you mean AFTER the event - I'm doing that now :)

If anyone else is still like getting unexpected handshakes instead of yellow atom signs from neighbours, what buildings are they on?

Graffiti from the neighbors not very far along will show as the radioactive symbol. All other taps will be handshakes.

Not sure if it is doing this for everyone but has anyone else noticed that when you report crime (generating the atom symbol) it activates that buildings animation? It could very well just be a glitch on my new iPad but I tapped someones bad dream house and was very pleasantly surprised to see its animation!
