During the Stonecutters event I got used to tapping all my buildings whenever they needed it, instead of leaving them for my neighbors to tap. Clearing the money didn't affect the "spy cameras" and made it easier to clean up the pyramids.
It's only been a few hours since I updated, so I'm sure I'll get back to "normal" soon, but right now it's hard to leave the dollar signs, cash registers, and restaurant bills alone!
Does anyone else have a hard time switching gears?
Oh yeah! I loved being able to click all of my buildings to get the cash. I think I made about 3 million during the event, since I cleaned up 2 times a day on blue and white houses.
Now, I need to figure out what to click and what to leave for neighbors. Before this event, I would clear white houses myself and leave blue ones for my neighbors. I just redid the place and now everything is all mixed up with no clear white or blue house developments. I do have a brown house development tucked away at the bottom, right corner of my town. I don't think I will get much traffic down there.
If anyone has any ideas that work for them, I would love to hear them :D
Between events, in my opinion, it's not worth worrying about, except for maybe the first four or five days after a new FP prize is introduced. For those four or five days, I notice a big bump in number of visits, and I make a special effort to leave buildings available so people can get their FP.
But in general, between events is extremely laid back. We don't really have any urgency to earn emblems or gift cards or gremlins or anything like that. The money we collect from each tap is not that significant to get nervous over. It is MY experience that many good friends, who visit daily during events only drop by a few days per week (as if to say "hey") between events.
The pressure times I recall were when I started, with people I hadn't gotten to know yet, and we found each other in the add-me thread. Problem was that we had all put the promising words " daily tapper" in our "add me" post. So we sort of felt obligated. That settles down after a while.
If I were you, I'd clean out my entire town once in the morning and once before bed. Its not as though 100 neighbors are going to come charging in at one time. Youll have buildings maturing at various times all day. Then, maybe midmorning and mid afternoon if you possibly can, just go in and clear handshakes.
Thank you for the long- time player strategy! It actually sounds relaxing after the hourly tasks from Stonecutter's. I guess that's how you keep at it without burning out.
