Hiding valentines ponds
I have not had enough to hide yet. But when I do, I'll probably hide them in my forrest, behind buildings, where ever I can... If they were not worth multipliers, I'd sell em' after using what I want.

no idea what extra ponds are good for

To respond to the OP though, yep. I think I'm up to 4 heart ponds now, with only two showing. The others are tucked behind some of the (thankfully) large buildings. I do the same with all the rubbish I uncover as I expand my land.
The ponds are a bit large to fully screen behind the trees, I think, but the forest makes a great hideaway spot for the rubbish, as many of those bits are smaller. Plus I have "strategically" placed tree infested areas nearby the nuclear plant, Cletus' farm and the Muntz home, so a bit of rubbish showing through the trees is kind of expected near those areas.

Is there a reason why you keep the rubbish you uncover as you expand land? Do they also add to your town multiplier?
I had Lisa and Homer clean most of it up and earned a donut with it. Kept some for decoration.
