Homer crash

Same here, it's on every device and there's no way I've found past it. Tried doing another short task as Santa or Mayan etc but can't change to regular Homer.

Off to iTunes for as much of a refund as I can get as I can't progress any further. Well done EA, another quality update.

This has been happening to me for the past week. So frustrating. I have completed all missions and can now focus on adding detail to my Springfield. I have been adding detail as I go, and have rarely had crashing issues until very recently. Now the game is practically unplayable. I crash when assigning Homer, Lisa, and most recently, Barney. The game even crashes when I try to scroll through the decorations menu, so I can't even finish adding hedges. I don't even have all of the land nor any premium buildings (save for the sign and lair). I'm not sure how I'll be able to add more to my town in the future if I'm having this problem now. It took me two days to clear a modest amount of debris because of crashes.

    So frustrating.

Thank you. I've stated this for a few weeks now. Every since the post-holiday update, I have had problems, well before I had enough money or land to do the new upgrades (e.g. Burns' mansion). Characters would cause crashes. Looking at the decorations menu caused crashes. Even trying to buy a new square of land caused crashes.

The only way I have updated is by slowly doing items, synchronizing a LOT (by going to the neighbor-eenos area and returning), and expanding my view. When characters crash, I found by expanding my view, I can get assign them tasks without crashing.

My guess is server issues - more we have, the more it crashes. But I found it odd that despite no changes to my Springfield, I started crashing post-update. And I find it odd that these crashes affect a lot of games, but many others are stable.

I'm hoping the next update will correct this, but... Still, for a game meant to expand and one that has constant updates, this is a serious issue. Eventually everyone will crash and there'll be no game.
  • Yeah, I wonder if I'll be reduced to trying to play in the wee morning hours when online traffic will be minimal. As more and more people play the game and make their towns bigger and bigger, the problem is just going to get worse and worse, and more frustrating for a larger number of people.

Question: if my game crashes on me, does that mean it is likely unstable for mynneighbors who visit? I'd hate to be the guy who crashes someone else's game while they're collecting.

My boyfriends town never crashes, but anytime he visits my town it crashes if he moves around too quickly!

Don't get discouraged. I hear that happens to lots of guys if they move around too quickly in their girlfriend's "town".
  • Just to affirm... Removing decorations will certainly stabilize your SF. I have been vacillating (over decorated, reduced & redesign) & in every instance, there seems to be a point of critical mass where it starts lagging, crashing, etc & I can't get certain people to start tasks. Also, a laggy SF will crash your neighbors if they are not careful with tapping & scrolling.
  • I'm level 25+, huge land and lots of decorations, but I can switch fine between homer and mr plow. I guess this might be a memory issue, so if you have a device with limited ram (iPhone 3/gs, iPad1 or the first retina iPad3), you might experience crashes much more frequently.

I was wondering do you have ALL of premium items & all charactors/buildings in your town? How many friends do you have also??

I have everything and about 50-60 friends, I just wondering as i crash probably once (maybe twice) when doing the collection/setting tasks, i have had to cut down on friends and on decorations (loads) like so many other people on this forum have had to do :( I have loads of Memory space on my iPad two so i know it not a memory thang.
