Homer strangling Bart

We definately need that as a shared task :D

How long should the task be though?

Parents can (should) monitor their children's TV viewing. However the game is a free app and so it is hard for parents to regulate. Hence, the lack of extreme violence in the game. Good call on the part of EA.

Of course EA doesn't seem to hesitate to show alcohol abuse and cigarette smoking by numerous characters....

Or Legs and Louie performing torture that imho follows the same philosophy as waterboarding. And let's not forget 12 hours of hackysacking a frog.

Exactly. There's plenty of bad behavior on display in this game, and it's all meant to be tongue-in-cheek. To single out one thing (Homer strangling Bart) and to say that crosses the line is to conveniently ignore a lot of other things.

Absolutely! I love the game. It has some aspects I don't care for, that's all. On balance, the good outweighs the bad a million times over. Most of the philosophy is exactly what I think young people SHOULD hear. Its funny cuz it's so true. :)
  • I'd like to see Homer chase Bart around town after Bart tells him what "kwyjibo' means. :)

if people think it crosses the line they shouldn't even watch the show because it's been happening since the very begining.. it should be added as a task as it's one of the shows recurring gags..

if they add it and people have a problem with it they can either stop playing the game or not use the task

You forgot the murder, bribery, extortion, kidnapping that is also involved in the game involving seven characters in addition to those tasks- Bart being strangled(and frankly, he never actually gets hurt) is nothing by comparison to those crimes.

Personally, I've never liked the strangling bit in the show. I just don't find abuse against children and animals funny.

If a parent really doesn't want their child to access apps/games etc they can set up a pin on the device, same as they can with Sky tv channels so they can't access some stuff.

Not to mention the zombies that explode when you tap them and the bunny stunning which was just as graphic/violent as strangling.
  • And don't forget about the lady being burned alive at the stake. Really non violent stuff.
