Homerlayas can't be stored....
Mine is furthest north as I could put it. At the moment, it doesn't have a real place. But I don't feel that it intrudes being so out of the way. I suggest you do the same. You may forget it's there.

Once the Homerlayas is completed, you can select a level appearance of the mountains, meaning you can just Homers face, or Homer and Marge etc. And if you dont want it at all, you can select just the mountain facade.
Edit: you can not have just the mountain facade, you need to have at least Homers face up.
