How did you manage Act I?

Most people finished Act 1? Somehow, I doubt that.

I upgraded the snowman and gingerbread house in all 4 Springfields. Main town got Patches and Violet 2 days early. The other 3 were within minutes of the act ending. All towns got the chalet. I was waiting to see the new craft ables for Act2, and missed the clan sign. Oh well. I'll know better this time.

I was able to upgrade the snowman and gingerbread house completely and earned Patches and Poor Violet with a day to go. Halfway to bonuts. Crafted the ski chalet and wooly bully, but missed out on the rest due to hoarding craft materials.

While I do have a secondary town it's a real town. I maintain it as a near duplicate of my primary town and actually have to work a little harder with it since I've only just recently bought a small batch of donuts to get some stuff I also wanted in my primary town - which always seems to get lots more freebie donuts from Mystery Boxes and Friend Actions. "Oh great, 30 more donuts.. Why couldn't I have gotten them in my other town..."

I got almost two rounds from most levels of Snowman and GingerB too, I do think it helped getting the last prize.
Act II has 4 such quests, I wonder if we'll have time to do the same with the Petting Zoo & Reindeer etc.

I think I would've been more annoyed with that as well. I hope you have a smooth run for the rest of the event.

I missed a chunk of time through being on holiday. Hotels had wifi so I could tap twice a day but finding free wifi good enough to get into the game at other times was almost impossible. My mobile phone contract doesn't include overseas broadband so I wasn't about to spend a small fortune just playing a game. I got within about 5000 Santa hats of earning Patches & Violet. I'm ok with that.

The gingerbread house was disappointing. It made me do level 4 twice. I might have completed this or got near enough to complete with a small amount of donuts if I hadn't had to do this. I've decided life is too short to waste is on "customer service" people who seem to know nothing about the game. Have no way of proving it so it would be a waste of time. I'm going to live with it at level 4.

Crafting wise, I got everything I wanted. I already had the stuff from previous years so I didn't have to collect as many items as newer players. Wish I hadn't bothered with the sign as it seems a bit disappointing. But generally a good crafting result.

Overall, I think I did quite well. Not sure I understand how people who tapped 4 times a day or more missed out. I don't like the Patches/Violet characters so am not upset about missing out. I liked the other prizes - I'd have been really disappointed to miss out on the dancing reindeer!

I manage to get everything I needed in act one. :mrgreen:

It was easy enough, I find it easy enough to take my cell phone out every 4 hours or so to check my town. I even missed a day because I was doing Ned's 24 hour task from the ski lift the same day I finished the snowman, so I had to wait to start the gingerbread house questline.

What stops everyone from being able to take out their phone? If work has a policy against it make a quick bathroom trip or smoke and lunch breaks, start when u wake up, hit it up again at lunch, and again after work and you can easily finish.

What if there's no Wi-Fi or phone signal at work? What if I was a miner, deep underground for 10 hours? (I'm not) but it bothers me when people assume they know all about everybody else's work conditions :-)

I rushed the last but one gingerbread upgrade task to get the orphans with an hour to spare

I did craft the ski chalet and maybe would have had a clam sign if we knew it was going but not fussed

However, I bet people pull their finger out and do MUCH better in act 2 ?

Managed to craft everything and got all prizes with no feeder town although I did buy the duff thing, I even managed to get 2 bonus donuts as well.
