that wouldent be good if they added that i can allready see so meany trolls abusing that and voteing bad on good towns and voting good on there crappy friends towns.
I'm a crammer. 2 towns worth. I started my first game just before THOH 2014 and the second in the middle of it (by accident, then I decided to continue it as a lark just to see how a pure Freemium game would play out).
I quickly realized that if I bought a bunch of land, filled it up with streets and made everything look pretty, I'd never catch up (I'm still trying to catch up: level 49 on my Premium game, level 47 on my Fremium), so I just started cramming stuff everywhere - better to buy buildings that earn money than buy land that doesn't.
Meanwhile, I realized that the characters on outside tasks and off task were attracted to streets. I also realized that aliens (THOH) were also attracted to them, so I limited my street to one short section. No more tracking down aliens to squish! A few taps and I'd gotten them all.
Later in Winter 2014 part 2 I realized that the elves were also initially attracted to streets when I moved my street over to connect to the Squidport (which also attracts characters). My street was NNE of the cannon and all the elves would drift in that direction after they crashed in - I moved it to the east and they started drifting East...
Furthermore... The streets are all out of proportion to the buildings. They're almost as wide as Brown Houses.
Designing takes time. I have more important things to do than sit around going, "Hmmm, maybe this building would look better over here... And maybe I should build a complex flower bed around it...".
Then there's the fact that I have no artistic sensibility. Anything I designed would look like a typical planned subdivision anyway, so why bother? Sure, I could copy other people's designs, but what's the point? It wouldn't be original.
And lastly... It's A Game. You don't get points for how pretty your town design is (yet... And if that ever starts I will lose SO many points).
I can just imagine them adding that to the Conform-o-meter with your neighbors voting daily on the appearance of your Springfield... I'd have 0 stars for THAT.- I also agree with this perspective. I understand being a little crammed - but my town was never not designed with intent. It is even more bizarre when you come across a high level, premium forum regular town like this. I guess different people play for different reasons - but like Barry said, I play for the design and creativity. Even during this slow time - Im not rushing any of the new level. Just taking my time and redesigning Krusty Land.

That, and those who farm houses, are my pet peeves among my neighbors. Not gonna delete them though unless the've been inactive for months.
I wouldn't be able to accumulate enough money without house farming. I would love to get rid of mine but right now I need it. I'm level 49, only started playing in October. Still have a lot of land and aspirational items to buy and I've never had over 3,000,000$ in the bank.- 4junk3000New Spectatornot everyone plays with a strong desire for designing their SF. i certainly would never hold others to the same expectations of my own. So I assume some people just haven't gotten to the point they can make a full redesign. And, some never will.
But that's ok, because this is not a game that rewards creative designs.
i personally don't like cluttered towns which are full of premium items. it suggests they can afford to buy expensive things with little regard for them afterward. that's offensive to me as i'm very poor, and care greatly for anything i'm able to obtain.
if you don't like visiting those neighbors as much, you have the option to delete them. there's always more neighbors. no one here should ever get bent out of shape over who their neighbors are. it's no different than moving to a new town. old neighbors shouldn't resent you for leaving.
But i do prefer neighbors who develop their SF with care and clever designs, I appreciate touring their neighborhoods, and expressing my appreciation with daily visits and thoughtful taps during special events. - I have basically stopped adding any more roads because it spreads your characters out too much. I still have lots of fun though doing item art etc.
- The worst IMHO are the people who jam together every building but have all of the land bought...this wouldn't be so bad if the buildings were in the landing zone but the few who have this configuration have their buildings compacted in an old landing zone making you hunt for them
I can understand the need to buy all of the land and then decorate, but at least move the buildings to the new landing zone when you buy a new strip  - This sure has gotten interesting, thanks! :)
House farms a whole different thing. I have a house "community" so it won't be a farm, but as I need land and get buildings that will take up the space, it will disappear. I don't think house farms are attractive, but sometimes you do need that money! :)
Roads... I've seen a few towns with few roads, and one person that has scattered buildings (a little different than cramming, now that we have a name for it :)) and a circle of road in the landing spot. That was so awesome during events that I don't even know how to describe the awesomeness. It let me visit and move on so quickly, as most everything was RIGHT there. :)
There are a few towns I've seen that have some stuff crammed, and it's obvious reasoning to me. They have a well built town and either got sick of designing, or got new stuff they haven't organized yet. I'm similar, but don't often cram. I'll put a building down, usually near a road, and when it builds, I decide what to do with it.
I do like seeing creative towns, but as long as crammers visit and clear buildings, I really don't mind. :) I know that there's no game benefit to an organized town, but a mashup of buildings seems to miss the point. I recommend at least a few roads. ;) Oh, I've also seen a town with one road - presumably to make sure there's a road for characters and events - and the rest was done with pavement. Very different, and allowed for a lot of design that was unique and creative.
So yeah, play as you'd like, but I am enjoying seeing what people have to say about others cramming and the crammers yourself. :) 4junk3000 wrote:

im sure theres some rich peaple who buy that crap and then treat it like it is, virtual garbage that wont benafit you any what so ever after this game is finished, of course im sure the majority whi\o has premium items and designed the town like crap probaly hacked the game, therefore they got it for free and dont GAF. oh and im poor too, i spent 0 dollers and 0 cents on virtual trash that you will forget about in a few years, if you are as poor as i am (i doubt it as you acualy baught some crap in this game) i would save that money for a physical item you can touch, and maby even trade in the future, even blowing it on bud makes sense, thats tangable for atleast a few days.- ZennGlennRising Newcomer

First, I'm not complaining, and am only curious. I'll explain after I tell you what I'm talking about. :)
I go to towns now and then where there are few to no roads at all, and just buildings jammed together in a Tetris like manor, and I wonder how that is fun?
Now I don't mind people doing that, with one exception to the rule. I noticed that people who do that don't seem to play as long as those who design with at least the minimum of roads to put the buildings on. So they end up stopping sooner, and I'll drop them after my usual 4 or so weeks of non activity.
So like I said, I don't mind. I've had people who do this as neighbors, and they're usually good neighbors. They keep their buildings cleared for tapping during visits, and visit me on a regular basis, so I don't have any problem with it. I just don't understand how it's fun to do that in this kind of game.
Any insight, opinions, or whatever? Drop them in a reply. :)
This has been a subject that I also have trouble understanding. To me, it's like being a car collector, and then just parking the cars randomly across many acres of land, and essentially leaving them to rot.
These people should be shunned by society, have their names entered into some sort of register, and have signs placed on their front lawn to let people who.... Well, that may be a bit harsh.
I enjoy taking my time visiting neighbors, as I actually enjoy seeing the artwork they've created. When I see a jumbled mess, it makes me do this:

As usual I'm in the same realm of thought...
