Yes, they generate the nightmare last set. There are two ways to get nightmares from campfire:

1. Kids on task at the campfire
2. Nightmares that spawn in your town from the campfire

Your town can only hold so much at one time. Tstoaddicts is stating the bank is 40 and your town can hold 20 max. You might have to go to friend screen to synch with server to get the rest to spawn in your town from the bank.

I have all the kid characters too, so I have to pull the rest from the bank. One other trick is to clear your town from spawns before finishing the kids' tasks.

Also I've noticed that if I send a kid to tell a different story before collecting all from the bank, new nightmares from the bank *might* switch to the new monster.

I know how to generate the nightmares. What I'm having issues with is only getting about half the nightmares I'm generating.
