- Thanks neighborino! I came here because I had a big zero after getting the gnarled hedges and I was wondering why. I think I get it.

Wouldn't you want to store Milhouse's house to restart Milhouse I don't know why you put Flanders there but I'm guessing it's a mistake
I could be mistaken but do mean the same thing as what you're saying. Believe the building that stores Milhouse is called Flander's house. I'll update if I'm incorrect though - thanks

Thanks I updated it.... no idea how I thought Milhouse was a Flander... :mrgreen:nissa762 wrote:

Maybe Ned thought Milhouse was a "neglecterino" and baptized him as a Flanders. :mrgreen:nissa762 wrote:
There seems to be some confusion on how to get nightmares to count. They will only count if you match the upgrade level of the campfire to the character telling stories.
Here's where you can find the campfire level and your count (screenshot take from another thread - thanks)

If your character telling stories does NOT match the upgrade level, the nightmares won't count to upgrade
To complete the upgrade to get to the next level, send the character on the same row i.e. if on level 2, you need to send Lisa to get to level 3.

*NOTE: The pattern of zombies, snakes, bunnies, skeletons keeps repeating
Who spawns what?
Martin - zombies
Lisa - snakes
Milhouse - bunnies
Bart - skeletons
The character you send to tell stories will change BOTH the nightmares that spawn from kids on task AND in your town
Does tapping zombies/snakes/bunnies/skeletons in a friend's town count?
Tapping zombies/snakes/bunnies in a friend's town will count - ONLY if you still have friend actions left (30 towns max or 90 actions) AND they match what you need to upgrade. After that you just get cash/xp and the nightmares won't add to your upgrade total.
What happens if a friend is spawning zombies (or snakes/bunnies/skeletons) but I need snakes (or zombies/bunnies/skeletons)?
If you still have friend actions left - SKIP THIS TOWN for now. You will waste your friend action as it won't count to your upgrade total.
TIP to get head start in the morning:
When going to bed try to stagger who tells stories so your kids will spawn one currency and your town will spawn another. For example, if you need 50 more bunnies to get to the next upgrade level, send Milhouse to tell stories BEFORE you send all your kids on task. Once all kids are sent, you cannot change what they spawn. THEN store Milhouse to cancel his task, and send Bart to spawn skeletons in town.
Once you have this setup, you can keep the stagger going without having to cancel tasks. Try to keep a bit of a delay by sending the kids first, then waiting a few minutes to send your storyteller.
NOTE: Don't forget Lisa cannot be stored, and can only be rushed with sprinklies
NOTE 2: This will only work if your kids can spawn enough to get you to the next level
Milhouse - store Van Houten House
Bart - store Treehouse
Martin - store Library
Thank you! I kept spawning zombies as I did not really felt i needed eggs, and noticed that my tapping didn't seem to count, but guessed it was jus anothet glitch not in my favour. Lost a day's work by this mistake, guess that was a cruel reminder not to do anything without checking the forum first. At least I'm back on schedual, more or less.iSkriLLz wrote:
Bumping this because it just saved me from almost rage quitting and I'm sure I can't be the only one. I vote to sticky for event.
I've wasted 3 days. Couldn't understand why I never got snakes which I needed to upgrade.- See, this is the sort of explanation EA should have included in the in-game text. :?
Thanks for the explanation! madfish86 wrote:

Does anyone else understand the spawn rate of nightmares?
I'm trying to get an idea of when I no longer worry about upgrading the campfire and just focus on building the crafting materials that matter to me. It says each level increases spawn rate by 5% but what was the baseline?
It seems the baseline was roughly one nightmare every fifteen minutes. By level five it's about one every 12.2 minutes, level ten every 9.5 mins, level fifteen every 7.5 mins (that is 8 per hour by level fifteen).
Thanks. I know we get a prize for each level up as well up to Level 10 which is the highest level shown at this point. In previous events there was a point where leveling up wasn't worth the crafting material to keep upgrading.
I had that same question in another thread and the word was that the spawn rate just keeps going up. Seems strange that that would be the case. In any case, you can only stop it from upgrading by deliberately not producing that nightmare and not tapping on that in neighbor's towns. I think I will just keep matching my story teller to the needed nightmare for the most part.- anaquarindNew Spectator

This is a fantastically helpful post, but I can't agree with this one. It takes me so long to do my neighbour visits, I cannot even begin to think about doing this! Tapping through all my neighbours, looking to see if it's the right spawn, and if not, come back later. It would take me over an hour of cumulative time.
