How to unlock Kang and Kodos

I fun it really bizarre what EA did with Kang and Kodus, like Kang was originally premium with the ray gun then Kodus was the premium given when Kang was made free to I suppose 'repay' those that felt like it was unfair they'd bought Kang for 150 and now he's free.
Wonder if there's anything lined up again seen as Kodus is a free character, or if the Ray Gun is now worth 150D alone- which is quite expensive
