Do you see how we're being stiffed of a bunch of prizes?
No. I see you whining.00-marco_rosas wrote:

No, EA is stiffing us of a prize. My logic is
But gold eggs are converted to a prize. Only when you start clearing out the gold prizes does it give you blue or pink eggs back - which in turn just reverts back to gold. So either way you are getting a prize. Whether it be blue or pink prize, or a gold prize.
That's where the logic is wrong. If you redeem the other box, you will have "4/5" of a prize. By looking at the prizes, all the best ones appear in here. Sherry Bobbins - a well sought out character. Bunny man - a character WITH tasks also here too. He has a task to FIGHT homer! So to me more tasked characters are the sought after prize, and to get them you need the gold. You won't get gold eggs 50% of the time, I went through 22 blue and 22 pink boxes. I didn't open more than 10 gold boxes. Instead I was littered with ponds, tree, fences, along with a few of the rare prizes.00-marco_rosas wrote:
The event also appears awfully low in new content to me.
Here are some key problems:
- No award for first 24 hours like usual (Gypsy House, etc.)
- Too few boxes (~ 1 or 1.5) per day
- Bulk of free decorations have been transferred into boxes so I can't decorate immediately
- Boxes award GOLD eggs, a inter-prize that's really not a prize at all
- No discernible goal to reach by players. Most boxes will award a decoration or gold eggs (NOTHING) so there's not much reason to play.
The result that, for me, this even has been downright horrible. Like HORRIBLE to the point that this is evoking less excitement from me than a level update.
Also, I actually prefer the wheel significantly to the prize box if you are going to have to give us random prizes. The major complaint about the wheel was that it was random, NOT about the wheel mechanic itself. Why wheel is better than prize boxes:
- It is exciting to watch the wheel spin and pass near prizes you want whereas prize boxes you know what you receive immediately.
- The wheel is better at showing off the prizes that you may receive because you pay attention to the wedges of the wheel while you're spinning.
I'm not quick to criticize, but EA you really messed this event up. This is easily the worst major event in the history of Tapped Out. There's almost 0 new content accessible for most players and we play and we don't know when we'll actually receive anything. The entire mechanics of this event is fundamentally flawed so I don't know how you guys will rectify this.
+1
That's why I made a thread about this specifically to get EAs attention so they can say their massive screw up of an event that they made.
Hey but the more threads the better. You know never know, the person looking at these could be blind :lol:HillyBillyOli wrote:
I wish Josh was still around to post his thought on this update.

R.I.P josh always loved never forgotten- EA should never, ever have given as much free stuff as they did when the game was first released. We're at a stage where a large number of people expect to get every single scrap (item, building, whatever) for free.
Do people go to the fair and expect to win every time? Isn't it part of the fun that only some people win a prize?
Was never around for the first Whacking Day, but besides the Wheel, this is the first event that's got me really interested in playing more often because it's not just about the grind. - It takes time to earn the prizes, the event is like 26 days long. Just chill out and enjoy it. I think this is an awesome way to do it, I love surprise prizes. And they gave us like 5 new premium items to buy if you want.
- the problem i think is that when you visit neighbours the amount of eggs you get decreases when it should increase or stay the same. Otherwise, you may as well just visit friends for the most amount of eggs. Why does it go down?

I think they did that the same way with the decreasing FP, it slows down the earning of the eggs so everyone hasn't earned all the prizes by like day 3 (unless they spend donuts to get tons of eggs).00-marco_rosas wrote:

Not sure if everyone else has noticed this, but with the "guarantee"s, it is 80 boxes SPECIFIC to each Egg color. So 80+80+80 = 240 boxes needed to completely guarantee all the prizes.
Even purchasing the Barn of Eggs you only get about 22 boxes.
Only way I can see EA saving this event is to simply move the eggs needed per box to a less number, like 100.
For those of you that think this can be pulled off, even for premium users, I'd like to see your math. I'm convinced, like others here, that this Event is a complete disaster. I genuinely want to be convinced otherwise though...- I was royally peeved when i accidentally tapped someones basket, and lost literally all of my less common eggs.
This looks nigh impossible to get every egg prize without donuts right now. I'm assuming eggs will be more common once we get past the main quest. It has happened before. What has also happened before, is EA changing the odds once they realized how unrealistic they were for us.
So yes, I say keep shouting at EA to change the odds. But also, don't lose your patience, because nothing is set in stone for the entire event. Plenty of people have made that mistake before.
