- I know lots of people buy boatloads of donuts, but that's too much money at a time for me. Most I've ever spent at a time was $25, and that was only once or twice. I usually buy scratchers instead.
- I usually buy in truckloads. What have I spent this last two years? Don't know and don't want to go there
- WOW!
- The only time I have ever purchased boatloads was at Gill Sales, 30% extra.
Now I wont say how many boatloads I bought during those sales....................... empathy77 wrote:

Boatload on a Gil Deal really the only way to go.- Ummm. I'm really really confused as to where you got those numbers ...
According to the "Free Items vs. Premium Items" thread, which Deadshot just updated yesterday with the Pride Day items http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/9035573.page
Here's the breakdown of numbers of premium items by category:
99 Premium Characters (19 of which were free during events)
44 other Premium Buildings (15 of which were free during events)
25 Premium Skins & facades (9 of which were free during events)
144 Premium Decorations
10 Premium items in Krustyland (includes rides, and decorations)
The NPCs are included in that "Premium Character" category.
White fences, benches with towels, Pride signs, green trashcans, Homers hammock, etc. are included in premium "decorations"
Krustyland trashcans are included in the "Krustyland" item category.
That's 322 Premium Items, for those who paid for all of them (e.g., those who got absolutely NONE of them for free.)
Let's assume, just for the sake of argument -- I'll go really high here -- that each and every item costs 150 donuts. Even a white fence. ;)
That would be 48,300 donuts ... or just about 20 boatloads of donuts.
$2,000 dollars over 3.5 years is $47 per month. (Assuming a white fence is 150 donuts.)
Incidentally, here's what happens for those of us who DID get items for free ... when I take out the 40 or so items given away for free during events, the number of items drops to 282 items, or approximately 42,300 donuts. (Assuming a white fence is 150 donuts) ... that's under 18 boatloads ... $1,800 over 3.5 years is $42 per month.
Don't be so hard on yourself. You're bad. But not THAT bad. ;) JimJ321 wrote:
Pics? Did any of this really happen??
Thought of you yesterday, Jim. I won both the long shot at Springfield Downs AND the jackpot in the scratchers (for cash, alas, not donuts). And nope, didn't get pictures, so I guess it didn't happen!- yeah, hard to crunch actual numbers. For example, I've bought donuts through Gill sales giving me 30% more and also won donuts via scratchers. To Annette's point - there is no cheaper form of entertainment available, so if you're having fun, and not going into debt to do so, don't worry about the cost over time. I cant even fathom the amount Ive spent on movies, music, tv, etc over the yrs - and no one ever regrets those costs in hindsight.
- It's been asked for before and I'm going to ask for it again. It would be nice if there was a feature that showed you how much your game was worth in in-game cash. I've always wondered that myself. If they did that, they could easily show how much your premium decorations were in doughnuts as well.
- I buy 300 donuts once every few months.
To my way of thinking, that's an ok amount for me to spend on a game, plus I reckon if everyone did similar (on average) then EA would be reasonably happy too.
