- skollthewolfRising NoviceHey, I'm not twisting your arm, pal. I'm just suggesting that, should you want Futurama to continue, then it wouldn't be a bad idea.
- Fox owns the show along with Groening including the episodes that originally aired on Comedy Central, how would trying to get the show back on Fox be a "legal issue" if it's one arm of the corporation trying to get airtime on another arm? In essence they'd be suing themselves. I could see this maybe being a Gracie Films issue since that isn't owned by either Fox or Groening and they would have a problem with Futurama characters cutting into their biggest game based on their biggest property...
Maybe there is another thing- perhaps someone else still holds the video game rights to Futurama until a certain point and won't release the rights just yet. - I would love Futurama to come back

I would give anything to have Futurama back.
It's just so wrong that the worthless King of the Hill got thirteen seasons and Futurama had to endure three cancellations and a total of barely eight seasons. If one is being generous.
You can't blame King of the Hill, that show had an even worse time slot than Futurama had yet still pulled in strong ratings. Blame Fox for not believing in the show and putting it in their time slot of death- 7 PM Sunday nights.- I love King of the Hill! I wish that show would come back too.

Fox isn't exactly smart they've canceled plenty of shows that came back in some capacity. Futurama, Buffy, and firefly come to mind.
Buffy wasn't on Fox, which is probably why it ran for seven years and Firefly (which might be my favorite show in history) only got 13 episodes.- Owning and licensing are two separate things. My guess is the legal snarls have everything to do not with who owns the Futurama likenesses, but who currently holds the license for them.

Don't forget Arrested Development! :Ppanopticnic wrote:

Being a cult hit does not equal being a ratings hit. Fox is quick to cancel shows but it is also a lot more lenient with the ratings than the other networks.neuroheart wrote:

I always find it funny that people blame the networks yet have no idea how badly the show was doing in the ratings...being 98th overall in the ratings won't get you renewed no matter how well done the show is.
