This might of been answered before or even explained in game and I missed it but what do the icons mean next to performers? (I've the fist pump, the doller sign and the headphones)

But it's not limited to Acts other than when we get each stage. People who are rock stars can perform in all 3 acts, but only on the rock stage (like Homer); and certain other performers can perform on a different pop stage once we get it (like Rockstar Maggie); and others on a hip hop stage once we get that. Some performers like BGM or Lisa can do all 3 stages. A couple reasons - Spoiler (Highlight to read)First, the pop stage and hip hop stages are the first prize of Acts 2 and 3. We need some way to earn event currency during those acts before we get those stages. Must be the rock stage with rock performers. Second, Wierd Al prizes in Acts 2 and 3 allow you to unlock performing at the pop stage and hip hop stage. So you can add icons to certain performers. How can you have this figured out already? We don't even know who is participating in the last act. Their star levels may be higher than the ones that we started with in this act.

Educated guess based on the data available. We know based on the Update: 8/1 thread who was included in the Musician category. Many of us have Premium characters from this list already, ie Sherri and Terri, and Otto, who are not currently jamming. However Sherri and Terri were available to acquire currency that was used to unlock Weird Al. From this we can surmise that a portion of the musicians are exclusive to acquiring prizes in the same way Weird Al was obtained as they do not appear in the Star Management thread.

At current all characters share what we all understand to be the Rock and Roll symbol, however Otto who would logically fall under this category is not currently available for jamming, if the theory that these characters are only going to be available for this act because they only have this symbol, where is Otto?

We also know, those of us who have acquired enough experience, that each 'level up' in stars increases by 1/2 a star. When you couple this with the chart in the Star Management thread showing the jump 240-800 from 1 1/2 - 5 stars and the exponential increase from 48,300 for act 1's prize to 162,200 for act 3's prize, as per Prizes thread, it is evident that this entire event is all about the long game.
