Im a bit confused...
You tap on their buildings to get gift cards...and if they leave you gifts in your Springfield (you have to have the tree placed), you tap on those. Hope that helps.

What is the incentive with gift bags besides trying to hide them behind big decorations. ( I have gotten pretty good at this so any of my neighbors out there, check EVERY corner of your town after I visit :) )
All you have to do is send out the elves and they automatically find them.
