Long story short, I dig where your coming from.
I was at a point where I had surplus lattes, then I unlocked the institute and lattes dropped a bit, the smartphones were in surplus.
This event is meant to be taken either casually or aggresively, bear in mind if you do it aggressively you will hit roadblocks like this.
