Imo, speaking only for myself, I think TSTO is an expensive "premium" game to play. For the first several years I bought, and bought, and bought donuts... so much so that I am terrified to look at the receipts. It's brought me to a place where I can now play more easily, but knowing what it cost me to get here is embarrassing.
I personally think we should have characters that earn donuts. Not all of them, but some. Offer a good mixture of tasks... especially premium characters. After all, we paid for them with donuts... let them earn some donuts in return.
