IMO, TSTO hasn't gotten any more expensive and never will, because the game is only as expensive as the player chooses to make it. If you used to spend $100 a year on donuts, you can choose to still do the exact same thing although maybe it won't buy you quite as much content as it did in the past. I bet there are plenty of long term players out there who have never spent a cent on the game and are having just as much fun as those of us who have spent money.
