Maintenance is usually done at like 1 AM pacific time. If the servers are down right now, it's due to overload or some sort of attack from the lizard squad.

I'm having no trouble logging in now but I have sporadically over the past week or so. I posted my solution in another thread the other day but I don't think it got much notice. Every time I've not been able to log in I would switch from either wifi to my data plan or the other way around and would be able to get in no problem. I think since they route through different companies they end up hitting EA from different directions and possibly go to different servers. It has worked for me every time.
