They can release new levels all they want, but I have strong rule: if, during the event, the character which is needed for level quest is also needed for event tasks, I send that character on event tasks.

In case of level 49 this means that I built new building and unlocked new character, but I will not finish pt.2 of that quest chain right now because it requires Lisa, as she is earning presents right now.

At least I will have something to do when this event ends.

So they can release whatever they want, but it will probably require Homer or Lisa so I will postpone that.

Seriously, we just received level 48 so I doubt that we will receive anything new in 2014 except some additional updates and fixes for Christmas / New Year.

possibly i mean we got level 45 like a week after 44 so who knows

I just looked up walk through for level 48 (Janey quest line) and noticed something in that quest line:

After building initial building, EACH task in that quest line (except for the last one) involves character which has seasonal event tasks (Lisa or Bart). Event the bonus task with twins requires Bart. Each of those tasks lasts at least 6 hours (up to 24h), and two of them even require Bart and Lisa at the same time. So it almost looks like that quest line was designed to force players to make choice between Christmas tasks and level 48 tasks.

So since level updates are not going anywhere, I made choice :)

We'll most likely see Lvl 50 around mid-February. EA have done a pretty good job over the last 6 months of releasing a lvl update once per month, on average. So at that rate, we'll see lvl 49 around mid to late January, and lvl 50 mid to late February, along with the usual events (like Christmas and Valentine's in February and Saint Patrick's Day in March, etc) and episode tie-ins.

The FG game seems to have lit a fire under EA's collective butts, as now they're releasing more content more often.

I don't think we wait all the way until February for a new level. They have been releasing levels almost every four weeks so we are looking at either the 13th or 20th as the new level release date if it hits in January at all...but who knows, we have had a lot of problems due to the server issues so maybe the level gets delay in favor of an event extension.

Um... every four weeks is what I said, hence the prediction we'll see lvl 50 around mid February. It could be sooner or later, who knows? Just saying that they've been averaging a level update once per month (or every four weeks if you prefer that).

The Christmas event ends, what, in a little over 5 days? So Jan 13 it'll end (unless they extend it, which is a possibility).

But, even if they do extend the Christmas event due to the server issues, they'd probably also release a new level update for those who have completed the event. After all, we got the lvl 48 update in the middle of the Christmas event. That way they have new content for both those who are done with the Christmas event and those who aren't.

Lvl 49 - most likely mid-January (a week or two from now)
Lvl 50 - most likely mid-February
