So we can understand more about the grading system can you go here and grade these Springfields. I suspect hat your system might be biased to sprawl from some of the discussion about clutter and dense developments. http://imgur.com/a/vPm5q#9. I didn't check these screen shots of 41 Springfields against the report card list yet to know if anyone is on it.
What if the people who submitted their towns for that don't want them graded?
I think it should only be the ones asking for her and her friends to grade the towns.lissarv68 wrote:

Says the one person (oh sorry and her friends)... Man there are a lot of sheep on here. If these people need approval by some random person fine - what is inappropriate is grading people's towns that didn't ask you too - well more obnoxious then inappropriate. The least you could do is remove people who don't want to be involved.
Secondly besides commercial vs. residential I've never lived in any real town that had a restaurant district, most towns are mixed up... And who says where rivers and forests 'should' be?! Apparently Jarci's delusion of grandure knows.
It makes me sad so many people would try to change their towns or seek approval when this is a creative process, ever changing, that should develop organically - not conformed to one persons view - would you change the art in your house if they said it was bad? The music that you listen to? This whole thing is just as stupid.
Are you still posting in this thread?
Ignore it. You're an A in my book!
And I will give the OP credit - it is an ingenious way to create an "add me" thread. Lots of controversy and people that WANT him to look at their towns. Seems to work well for everyone involved.- For some reason reading this thread reminds me of the Simpsons episode where the school closes and Lisa freaks out, begging her mother to evaluate and grade her. :-)

This is why if someone is going to hand out grades the criteria needs to well defined and vetted. And in the vetting process I bet we would end up coming to the conclusion that any metric could not be boiled down to a simple grade. Its not that simple when you are talking about urban form. We all value different things, differently. If Jarci wasn't just creating a clever "add me" thread maybe a better one would be to try to discuss metrics on what we all think makes a "good" town. I for one weight creativity real high and enjoyed the 3-D examples although I do not have any.
Kudos on the clever "add me" thread by the way, I give it an B+.KrustyBrand wrote:

LOL   - I don't get why people are asking to be rated (not the people who just got their towns rated regardless if they wanted them to be). Isn't the point of the game that when you've done your town to your OWN taste you can step back and think to yourself "hey I've done pretty good job" someone else's opinion shouldn't be relevant to how you want your town unless you are seeking constructive criticism, which this grading system doesn't do, craving approval from someone is very shallow. A couple of pointers here and there are helpful, but at the end of the day it's your town.

I want to like this post. However your avatar pisses me off! I'm guessing that is the paperboy short? If so how dare you!

at least she got to stay up after her bedtime. :(
Point taken!
If it makes you feel any better, having seen all of this past year's nominees in the animated shorts category, I thought it was a toss-up between "Paperman" and "The Longest Daycare". On the other hand, I didn't think any of them were as good as last year's winner, "The Fantastic Flying Books of Morris Lessmore".- Ah, if people want to be rated then it's up to them, hope they get a good result or constructive suggestions that help. I was originally against the whole idea, but a rating I didn't ask for from someone I don't know wouldn't really bother me anyway now that I think about it, it's enough that I like my town. If doing this makes her happy then more power to her.
