Just being a geek...

yes. but saying 16 weeks isn't as bad sounding as 4 months. When you think about it, it will be summertime in 4 months.

With that said, are you planning to make an accurate Springfield when you get all of the land, or you just want the land for creative freedoms, because if you're gonna make an accurate Springfield I wouldn't recommend it, because a lot of buildings are not in he game. I'm also a "creative tapper" I guess you could say so I don't think we should all have the same town.

Thanks, I also don't see how people run out of space. They probably do huge designs for every building though, so it is their fault really.

I've tried really hard to condense everything in my town while keeping it looking as neat and presentable as i can, none of my houses have gardens (except The Simpson house), the only two parts of my town that eat up space is the Valentines Island (which will be demolished soon and replaced with something much smaller) and the centre of my town with the Sunsphere (which i have no plans on changing as i really like it's final design). I do have alternative plans though, the only downside to that is it will take a stupendous amount of time to do :)

I want more land so I can have better designs as mine are not that good at the moment. And also the fact that I will need it soon.

Some of us are also short on land and not making major designs. It's by having every single building offered within the game! I only have a few build out places, and only have a few plots of unused land. I want to make something neat, but then when the next level or major content update hits, then it would be time to scrap it

Yeah, I suppose so. I started on android last year. But between October 2013 to beginning of January 2014 I couldn't play so I didn't get a lot of money nor did I have a lot when I got my game back. I think players right from the beginning on apple who buy a lot of the premium items won't have much room left, but a lot who have been playing as long as I have, shouldn't really complain. I see people with 4-5 plots of land filled with parking spaces, which they could get rid of if they needed to.

True, but I feel the parking adds realism to the design. While pointless since vehicles are limited/don't function, it's still adds the effect to the building. Same thing can be said with a forest, parks, etc. Typically all custom designs, taking up land space, but again it's showing a uniqueness to the town and still adds realism there as well.

My town has almost no rivers for the time being. I'm so cramped that I typically discard the water. I always had ideas for using it, but with my current design and incredibly limited space, I have scraped it.

Although I agree that it adds realism to the game, when some players have a few that take up a few plots, why can't they get rid of some of the parking lots so that they can place new content? Then they can add them back new land is available.
  • i've noticed a lot of people have too much road. like roads all the way around a building. if there WERE cars, traffic would be a nightmare, particularly with no traffic lites and stop signs only facing two ways! haha

one of my neighbors appears to have been playing since the beginning as a premium player. she has more unique stuff than anywhere i've seen. and her back corner, technically has some empty space, vs. the interior of her town which is just mobbed with decorations.

so i think it's part of the challenge, working with the constraints of the game but still having a town you're happy with.

just like free players have to accept that there's half of the world they can't have; premium players have to accept that you can't have anything you want just because you can afford it. the game definitely induces a lot of negative emotional response, for a game. they must like it.

it reminds me of the South Park episode where the cable company employees were rubbing their * because customers could only complain but couldn't do anything else about it.

only true sadists would keep using that evil wheel anyway!
  • When I look at my own SF, I do wonder how others complain about no land. But some people do some really elaborate and creative stuff. Sometimes they make things look a lot more realistic too, like having a huge parking lot by the mall or something. I guess if you wanted todo things that way, it would be easy to run out of land. I'm not that creative, so even with all regular buildings and a big park and campground, I have tons of room left.

I'm not saying they cannot be creative, but when new content arrives, why can't they get rid of some part of their huge design until new land is available?

    It's all about choices, sacrifices.

I have been playin since day one, I have every item in the game except for Mt Carlmore or whatever it's called cuz it's unsightly and large.

I have only one of each house, two of the white ones. No duplicates of any building other than that single extra white house.

I don't do extravagant designs for evry building only signature buildings. My only extravagance being a waterfront I created prior to squidport.

Even still I have been forced to demolish things to make way for new content. Most have been areas I wanted to improve anyways but some have been painful destruction of well liked designs (parks, an airstrip, forested area etc).

I can certainly understand why less seasoned players might wonder about the alleged land problems but I'll just say this.

You'll begin to understand after you get to where maxed out players are sitting. It's a little unsettling to worry about what beloved creation you'll have to destroy next in the name of new updates/levels.

Hopefully they'll just add more land and you'll never have to fret. 8)

Yeah, I agree with that as you have everything ever available and have player from the start. I understand why players in the same position or close to that want land. You never know, with the next update they might add more land or with the next event update, which I am expecting to be Whacking Day again. I would like there to be more land, even though I have nowhere near it all as I can see my self filling it all up by next year. I will presume we will get more soon though. Just have to keep waiting for now!
