So, when the next parchment opens up, does your chance at the previous parchment vanish, if you haven't performed it? I'm confused..

They are really encouraging frequent playing with this event! I must admit I had gotten to the point that I was setting characters to 24 hr tasks most of the time. It's nice to log in more frequently though for what appears to be a very well-designed event with great items so far!

I hope not... the character I need is on task for the next 17 hrs and the next puzzle unlocks in less than 5.

Edit: okay I went and looked at the wording... it looks like it accumulates. you can't solve the next puzzle until you have solved the current one, but you can only unlock a maximum of one per day. each prize requires a certain number of puzzles to be unlocked, similar to the 10 main prizes we are collecting the emblems for.

This is what I want to know. I'm thinking it can't have a time limit because most players wont even get to that point until tomorrow and by that time they would have missed out on today's puzzle. Plus all the players that won't start the event for a few days. I'm thinking it's more of a way to keep people from getting everything at once that way they still have tasks.

The first one needs Lisa, but I already sent her on a 24hr task with the questline...I don't want to have to speed up more tasks, I already sped up enough to start the event already.

Do you think I'll be able to wait?

That makes sense, like being dripfed. Hopefully if that's the purpose, they'll keep access to being able to complete previous tasks..
