I am super new to Simpsons tapped out, can someone explain kem farming and how I get a second kem?

Take a look in the tips posts. There is a ton of info onit.

1. As soon as you can generate more donuts than you spend, activate the XP collider and keep it running. 25 donut cost for 10 days is the best deal. 2. Cash is key. You need it to build KEMs. You may be stretched too thin to KEM farm before completing level 60.3. Work hard on collecting Springfield Heights buildings. The work is a grind, but the added bonus costs you nothing. I started KEM farming after collecting all SH buildings with a bonus of about 180 percent. Most of that was from said buildings. 4. When you start KEM farming only build 24 at a time. Money will still be tight, and you may not have enough buildings or characters to build more, but that should be plenty to earn more than 25 donuts every 10 days. 5. Get to Level 939. Once you are there, you’ll get selection boxes instead of a single donut every new level. This will increase your donut generation by 50 percent if you always go for the box with 3 donuts. (I do.)6. Spend donuts on all 10 beach hideaways and upgrade them fully for a 100 percent bonus increase. Sorry for the long post. I hope this helps. The others are right. I posted this a little while back and there are other versions in other threads but it seems apt to post the following again...Consider how many KEMs you are keeping and how many you are building. Look at the cost for the total to find how much you need to have in the bank and subtract from that the cost of the number of KEMs you have in your town and want to keep. You will get 25% of the spend back when you complete them, collect the XP and then sell them.My new town has 3 to keep and 16 for XP only, so 25,870 - 480 is 25,390.When sold it gives back 6,348 ( always round up to the nearest $$ ) so the batch costs a little over 19,000 and I earn that from everyone on a 1 hour task if they aren't busy on SH , KL or other tasks meaning I can also keep adding to the land tiles fund that will become a truck fund.Started the town on Jan 21st, got all the SH bonus barring 2 islands giving 330% in total with the Burns Box and random bits and over lvl 260 as I type

@S1mp5ons first, get barney in the yearbook do not pay 250 donuts for him. most items in regular game are available in the yearbook cheaper, only new items or returning items may not be. check the places below before paying full price

What is your bonus? Bonus should be over 200% before farming as it will be frustrating and inefficient
make sure your collider is on. Get bonus up by getting burns boxes for the vans and billboards, Springfield Heights buildings, and buying and upgrading beach hideaways.

@S1mp5ons you should not farm until you get most of the regular level quests, up to level 60, done. The mystery box is the box the game prompted you to buy for 6 donuts in the tutorial. it is in the shop, tap yellow arrow, tap homer buddha scroll to the end. there are unique items in there but after those the box has a pattern. the news vans and the billboards increase bonus. start saving donuts for beach hideaways
When you get close to level 30 which is where you start heights. the buildings there give bonus. do not buy too many too fast as the sh quests want you to buy certain things.
when you hit monorail, only do what the monorail quests tells you to do.

you get one of the five choices on screen in the yearbook. you cannot choose which one. you can refresh to get different items.

@S1mp5ons just to be clear, KEM farming is a way to convert money to XP. House farming is a way to get more money.

I could explain but i know there’s already very good, detailed explanations on this site. But the summary is, buy about 20 KeMs, wait 4 hours, collect the xp, sell them all, and repeat. The objective is collecting xp to level up.

@dcvolfan98 have to disagree on a few points . . .
1: level up at least once a day before adding the collider, nowt to do with donut spend. It costs 25 donuts for 10 days to run and if you got a donut a day anyway that'd be 25 for you and 25 to run it.
2 + 4: Kems are cheap if you sell 'em when they're cooked and collected and even a couple extra adds up. When you can build more you can earn more. better to do a small amount every 4 hours than go broke with a heap of 'em once a day.
Bonus is key and Burns Boxes help early on.

I think we’re on the same page here. I may not have communicated effectively enough. Cash is necessary early on, and bonus is key. Both are needed to KEM farm. I went with 24 KEMs to start because they are the most cost effective to build for the XP return. The assumption is only build them if you can afford them and if your bonus is high enough to receive donut benefit. Thanks for helping me along, here. I cannot argue with the donut king! :)
