Good. It was unconfirmed at the time. People who generally know more than I do about what's coming were saying carbon rods would stop, I was just trying to prevent riots if that turned out to be accurate.

I already said for the record that I would be thrilled if there was a delay on issue one for those who didn't finish it yet. It's unprecedented in the multi-part events. I'm thrilled.

May I suggest using the TSTO Addicts site (http://tstoaddicts.com) as your source for "people who generally know more"? By policy, the mods there don't engage in speculation (unless they very clearly state that that's what they're doing), so I've found that, when they categorically say something is or isn't going to happen, they are very, very rarely wrong. Plus, they're incredibly helpful and thorough and they've established a site that's very positive, welcoming, fun, information-rich, and generally spoiler-free (they don't post anything that hadn't been confirmed by EA and/or actual gameplay). They were my "people who generally know more than I do about what's coming," which is why I felt pretty confident posting what I did here.

At any rate, I'm happy for all of those folks who got a late start on Issue 1 that the TSTO Addicts were right... Time for me to get back to tapping...errrr...I mean work! ;)

Then it's impossible they knew what was coming in phase two any better than anyone here, until it arrived. EA doesn't announce this stuff, and gameplay hadn't happened yet. But okay.

Knowing the way EA works I'm betting the ones they talk to are the customer support staff who always know less than us.

Technically, I can moderate the whole site, which is the official EA forum. The Tapped Out forums are where I hang out and where I'm expected to be moderating, though. Other subforums have their own moderators.
I do not work for EA. I'm a community volunteer. Some higher level admins do work for EA, and mods here do get the occasional word if there's an issue (like the stubborn Android notifications this event) so we can let the community know. We don't get inside info on events. The company keeps a tight lid on updates.
I find it hard to believe that the unofficial addicts site has inside access. If they're calling customer service and asking, that's a step up from blindly guessing. Really, we all know how this info is most likely obtained, but I'm not going to make accusations about it. (Especially any that would violate the forum rules I enforce.) So sure, if they say they have inside access, we'll go with that.
