Kwik E Mart glitch

So a few days ago my daily task was send all of Springfield to the KEM for an hour task. Now they won’t leave! When I click on the finished task it gives me all the rewards and xp but only about 10 people come out and they immediately go back in like the task is still on and it is because everyone is still in there unable to come out! I’ve deleted and reinstalled the game twice now, I’ve waited for the new little update (which I can’t start as Burms and Smithers we in KEM purgatory) any other ideas?

    Store the Kwik E Mart and then go to friend screen and back. That should break the cycle.

    In the event that ellieguseman's excellent advice does not work, you can at least free Burns and Smithers another way. Just store the Cooling Towers and Burns Mansion for a few moments. When you bring them back out of storage, you'll have Burns and Smithers freed from the KEM, each in front of their original building.
