Morse Code with the hedges and cans is brilliant!! That said, it feels like the average user is Ralph and doesn't read the forum. You have to spell it out and even convince them why to tap. For my friends nobody tapped my boardwalk with just an arrow so I had to write out in fences "for lots XP, tap B. tiles" before they regularly tapped them.
Personally, even if something like the morse code thing became the norm, I wouldn't use it in my Springfield, as I am not fussed about what my neighbors tap, as long as they are visiting and tapping something. If they do happen to hit the tile or whatever, then that's just all the better. :)
I do however watch for signs like that when I am visiting someone else. I always check for the Squidport tile first, then go hunting for the others, even if that means spending a few extra moments looking around (though admittedly if I don't find what I am looking for after so long, I will just try to find long-term buildings to click, if nothing else). Sure, it may take me like an hour to get through everyone, but eh...I don't really mind.
