I got Peepants without spending a clam - I also played hourly for most of Thursday, Friday and a little on Saturday. I had the glitch where I could only have one of each clown in my town, so I really wanted it so I put in the time to get it.

I didn't wake up in the middle of the night. I only slept for 6 hours Thursday and Friday night (that's typical for me), so I can see where more time is lost if you sleep 8-10 hours.

I did too and I don't even play that actively. I had plenty of sleep. :) I don't know if it was a glitch, but I was able to keep tapping clowns into Monday morning PST. My friend who also plays said a building opened up for him on Sunday after getting the skin, but didn't for me Monday. I play FG casually so I haven't looked up what I missed though.
