In order for it to work for me i had to clear the cache and force stop, then the update went through automatically on Google Android :)

Ya, it was a forced update for me, not in Google Play or iTunes Store

I'm from Australia and got the update on the loading screen (Android). Maybe try to force close your game, clear the data and switch off your phone? That usually works for me.

Edit: Drats... sniper'd. :)
