Level 58 gone?

I had the same thing happen. I leveled to 58, bought the car, began the quests and got reset to 57. I contacted EA who said there was no record of a back up save or synch. They did give me money back. I didn't lose all of my XP. EA claims they are working on this as well and did say others are having similar issues. They recommended synching and logging out every time. FYI: I was synching and logging out after big milestones like leveling up or something similar. It didn't help as EA had no record of me playing at all yesterday. Just take screen shots to keep track of cash and donuts before doing anything major like buying a main quest item, spending donuts or when you receive donuts.

I don't think it will get fixed, but maybe EA will prove me wrong.

A couple of things to try that sometimes fixes issues like this first do a hard close of the game and then try playing it again, restart the device that you are playing on and if neither of those work uninstall the game and then reinstall it, if non of those solve your problem then unfortunately you will have to contact EA support and see if they can help fix the problem.

I am chatting with EA now (have been for an hour, they are so slow) He is saying something about rolling back my stats, I have no idea what that means.

Have you tried nuking your town?

Ha ha, I hope that's a joke. No nuking. EA basically said I have to re-do level 57 and work to get my XP back, there is nothing they can do on their end.

To anyone who has experienced this -- just out of curiosity, were you on a different device when the game level reset to 57? Or were you using the same device?

This has happened to me twice now... First I was Level 57 and got reset to 56. Then I was at 58 and got bumped down to 57. Both times I installed the update on my iPad first and bought the new buildings. The next day I opened the app on my iPhone at work and the app did an automatic update. When the game loaded, my level had been reset, the cash I had used to buy the buildings was gone, but I no longer had the buildings in my town.

It would just be nice to know if this is a glitch, or if something I'm doing (e.g. switching devices) is causing this issue.

I was on one device.

I thankfully haven't lost Level 58 but I keep getting Quimby and Frankie's dinner party/run for office dialogue regardless of what task they finish. Then I get the dialogue for the new task. Not complaining, just thankful it's only repeated words, not the whole dang level!
