By that logic, I should throw away all my Jimi Hendrix and Bob Marley albums. I should toss out all that Bach and Mozart sheet music sitting on my piano. I suppose I won't read any more of the Classics either, since the authors are all dead. I may as well throw out all my seasons of "I Love Lucy" while I'm at it. I think that people who record their work through various media have an understanding that that work will most likely outlast them. I highly doubt that Phil Hartman would be offended by people laughing at his comedy genius. I suppose my copy of "SNL's: The Best of Phil Hartman" is disrespectful too, right? I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but you need to put this into perspective. These people recorded their voices knowing full well that the recordings would outlive them. It's not disrespectful to keep the laughs and joy going. It IS a tribute to him.
