- Im a freemium player...so if i dont have enough do nuts...i pass.
I really enjoy the game and not getting evetything doesnt bother me.... but we're all different. - naswales925NewcomerJust been looking through the items for the Act 2 update, and every one is a premium item. I have bought loads of premium items in the past, but have already made two donut purchases this month and can't afford any more. By the time I can afford them most of the items will be gone. I have played FG but lose interest in the events as they are impossible to complete without spending money. It looks like EA are going the same way with Tapped Out.

I have to wonder.. Is it really that profitable for EA to charge 85 donuts for Nelson or 100 for Bart? I'd be far more likely to pay a dollar or two for these limited use skins and not bother with donuts at all. Would offering them for a lower price (and doing away with donuts altogether for items like this) widen the pool of buyers and increase revenue?
335 donuts for Nixon, Nelson and Bart? Go make love to yourself, EA
THIS THIS THIS !!!
If premium items were one or two dollars, more people would buy more of them. I sure would......but at ten or twenty dollars a time, EA can indeed go make love to themselves.....- This is a non issue for me, I buy what I want and don't buy what I don't want. If I am happy with the things I get then it a win. I did not really like all the valentines stuff or Super Bowl Stuff. I did not get a lot of it and have never regretted it.
To get stuff just to "have stuff" seems like an exercise in futility.
Just be happy with what you tap.. They are your toys, play with them as you will. - I bought Bart and Furious D....best donut deal so far. That said, I don't buy everything in the game, usually only limited time items and then only those that really mean something to me. It seems like EA is playing a version of Sideshow You to determine pricing on premiums lately...there's no rhyme or reason to the price tags.

They're not forcing you to buy anything. Just pick and choose what you want.
i agree here. i am a freemium player who goes premium when im given itunes cards from family for birthday/holidays. as well as when i get them from bing rewards (pm me for more info if interested) or even converting target gift cards (from shopkick) to itunes cards.
i finally saved up for 900 donuts instead of usual 300 donuts. have about 250 donuts left now. have not bought any event flags or skins yet. will probably save up whats left for possible level up premium items or next event- I can agree completely. I am getting frustrated with EA's approach to these recent events. First, their complete lack of communication has always been an issue, and it continues to be a sore point for myself and many other players. Their poor communication coupled with their inconsistency across events is maddening. During the Superhero Event, the Act II prize collection did not start until you were finished with the Act I section and prizes. However, that was the complete opposite during this event. Now I have the option of spending 255 donuts for the Buns softball skin. Yeah right!! I already experienced a similar encounter during an event and the Hover Copter. It was the final prize of the First Act prizes during an event and I could not get it without spending donuts to rush. I believe I spent around 80-100 donuts. Now it is for sale again for much less.
But specifically addressing one of the OP's main concerns, I agree about everything being released as a premium item is absolutely ridiculous. It is complete BS actually. Whatever happened to us spending our in game cash during events. They used to release a nice balance between new premium items, items for in game cash, and items for event currency. But now everything is either premium, or a incredibly high amount of event currency. Why does our in game cash become basically unused during events.
I am premium, but I have my limits. Now I realize nobody is forcing me to buy all of these items. But I still believe there should be more choice from the new items for freemium players. havocmike wrote:

it has to be profitable for them to continue charging such ridiculous prices for premium items otherwise they wouldn't charge 80-300 donuts for items

I quit FG a few months back for precisely the same reason. Don't miss it one bit.
With Tapped Out going the same route......well, we'll see, right?
I quit the family guy game after a month of its release for that very reason too.
Hell I think the only reason why I kept playing this game passed year 1 is because events were easier to win and premiums weren't all over the place. I even became a premium player myself in the last 9 months. But now I'm not sure if I want to continue buying donuts of things become so expensive.
I mean the reality is that some premium items cost close to $20 a pop. That's extremely expensive for just pixels on a screen.
I can't speak for everyone but I only plan on spending what 3 years of gaming is worth to me and that is about $60 a year. That means it's unlikely I'd personally go over $200. So far I've spent about $120 but I'm not sure if it's worth continuing unless something really special comes out and/or the aggressive pricing eases off.- 100s of dollars each event???
u r the target player ea is after. so they r doing their job correctly.
you are stuffing their pockets and then getting on a forum to complain about it to people who don't give a * about ur stupid complaints.
