Maps of Springfield

I am IMPRESSED!!

I am attempting to do mine in a similar fashion, although I haven't gone to the extent of looking at maps (nor did I know any existed!).

I take my cues from watching episodes (I, too, am a huge Simpsons nerd from decades back, as well as my husb, who also plays the game), although I've noticed that those change, depending on the episode. Sort of like how homer never wears a watch, but when they need it for a gag, there it is! Haha

But seriously, this is so cool! I get the feeling from these forums that most TSTO players are in it for the FarmVille fix, and are usually not big simpsons fans.

I started a thread a while back that I add to when it strikes me. It's for the true Simpsons geek, if you're interested. It got some fun responses, but the lack of response was a clear and disappointing indication that most folks who play are not simpsons fans. Here's the thread if interested:

I'm going to look into this map thing! Thanks for the thread!! I'm excited to dig! Friend me if you like!

So I only recently discovered this game and started playing (only at lvl 10 currently), but after trying it out and loving the premise of building your own Springfield (I'm a long time Simpsons fan, even had a full collection of the World of Springfield action figures and sets from about a decade back) I set myself the challenge of recreating the actual Springfield as close as possible, limited only by certain buildings and characters not being released yet (which I'm sure eventually will be), and missing out on certain Limited Time buildings and characters (no Mapple Store or Fat Tony--really hope they re-release at least Fat Tony at some point). So yeah, I'll be dropping a bundle on Premium buildings and characters over the next several months.

Anyway, to accomplish this, I'm using the following map of Springfield:

Here is a link to an interactive version since it can be difficult to read the names of the various buildings on the above version:

Also using this screencap from one of the show openings for more detail on Evergreen Terrace (how the houses are laid out, etc):

The following is the actual animation showing the quick zoom out from Springfield:

Now, I know that the show creators may not adhere to a strict continuity or layout of where things are in Springfield (and this map is older than the movie so there's no dome), but I will say the map's creators did a pretty incredible job of incorporating over 16 seasons of the show (think that's about when the map was released, though it's likely been updated since) into a workable map. And it works just fine for my purposes.

So, I'm setting off on building my own accurate as possible Springfield. Once I get a fair way through (at least level 20 and at least half to 3/4 of the premium stuff bought) I'll try to figure out screencapping it and stitching it together and posting it here.

I just wondered if any other fellow Simpson nerds had attempted the same? I'm sure I'm not the only one to attempt this.

Any advice, ideas, or tips from fellow Tapped Out players is very welcomed and appreciated.

Thanks for the encouragement! I visited your thread and posted about my obsession with the World of Springfield figures from a decade ago. ;)

Thank you, sir! HTML foruming tricks are the bane of my existence (well, one of many, really). As evidenced by the fact I can't seem to get the "quote" feature to work properly. In my defense, there's something screwy with this board as I notice that even though it's correctly
and , many fellow forumites' posts don't reflect the quote. It's annoying. It also make it slightly harder to slog through posts. ;)
