Moving buildings with decorations as one...

Hi all, I've been what you lot call a "lurker" of these forums for a while, decided to come out of the shadows after all this time....

I've not seen anyone else who has thought of this (not saying no-one has thought of it, just not seen it) but if you're like me, then at some point (or frequently) you have wanted to move something from one area of your Springfield to another including the building and any decorations and surroundings you have, but you have to do it piece by piece.

Seems obvious to me that you should be able to select an area of land and move it, along with whatever it contains to another spot, and rotate it if you wish! What do you all think? Would make re-arranging your Springfield a lot quicker!
Iposted something like this in a wish list somewhere.

It would be great if we could also move an entire fence structure. IE: the fence around the prison with a shift and hold type move!

  • As someone who just did a complete redesign, I really wished that it was possible to move multiple items at once. It was a real pain to have to store each piece separately. Its probably also why I have about 75 pieces of fencing in my inventory.

I completely agree. I bought new land about a month ago. This meant that my entire town needed to be moved 8 squares (small ones) to the right and down. I am still moving my town. If I could have move sections I would be done already. However, it has kept me busy with the game. I spend about 1 hour a day redecorating my sections.

What I would like to see would be a new layer button for plants. As of now the plants (trees, shrubs, flowers, etc.) are on the same layer as the benches, fences, etc.. Separating the plant and not plant decorations would make moving stuff, and decorating new areas, much more easier.
  • It would be nice but that is asking EA for too much. They can barely make this game work for many people.
  • Yeah that's very true Jasonicus321, the crashing issues are infuriating. I don't get why it works fine on my iPad but is cr*p on my iPhone 5 when both are on WiFi... Does anyone else have that issue?!

Omg exact same issue! I can crash like twice every minute on my iPhone but its strangely stable when I switch to my iPad... Problem is I don't carry my iPad with me everywhere so it's really limiting my gameplay.
  • Exactly, it's a lot less subtle playing on an iPad at work than the phone! Another reason to hate work... lol
