My theory is that it's because nobody can vandalize buildings due to the event.
I guess Bandits don't count as criminals
I keep at least one character in prison 24 hours a day every day. That reliably keeps my 5 star rating up, most specifically during events. I agree that the inability of neighbors to vandalize your town during events is what makes it dip. When I forget to keep someone imprisoned, and my righteousness does dip, I have to send as many characters as I can to prison for a day or two.
:D - MuhsterinoRetired HeroDid you get any Nero's walls from the recent Casino event? They count towards righteousness, take up less space than training walls and look far better too :)
- Not sure why righteousness is hard to understand:
Rating (ways it) Drops:
Randomly
Rating (ways to) Increase:
Tap Side-show Bob (if unowned, or visiting Other Springfield)
Remove Graffiti
Permanent (meaning you will never see your rating drop, at least to a low value - number required increases over time):
Place Training walls
(If owned) Nero's Wall (from Casino event)
I've never seen (valid) data that cites why this rating drops. Only theories. I conclude it does it on its own. - ... in the game AND in life

Summerized perfectly here. It should be added that under the PERMANENT category, some items/buildings also increase rightousness: swat van, police building, springfield prison, minimum security prison - i think it is random. i just leveled up to 191 and still have 5 stars.

Agreed.- I don't think righteousness ever worked right. I know it never did for me. I did everything you were supposed to do by terms of the games rules for the rating and it would never go up. And only magically would shoot to 5 stars one day and then just as magically go back to a half star another day. And I refused to hide training walls all over the place in my town to compensate for their failure to fix it. Then they made something that gave righteousness rating that looked pleasing to the eye not too long ago, nero's wall, and so I bought hundreds of them. I'm planning out redoing my SF and will hopefully soon has all the room I need to do my theme areas that I had not been able to do to date because I kept getting all this new stuff all the time from all these events filling the land faster than I could get the land. All the those walls will go around my casino district and possibly even be used for other stuff as well since the walls visually can go with other themes as well.
