Need help on how "friends" system works.

Normally, clicking on their houses/buildings will shorten the time they have until they get another payout, so it's a good thing. The longer it takes the particular building to collect rent, the better, i.e. tapping the Burns Manor is better than Brown Houses or Simpsons House or Kwikemarts.

In the Halloween event on now, however, it's better to tap on houses to haunt them (very preferably ones that haven't been haunted already)

So, when I go to their Springfield, will I always have access to taxes from a specific property or does it need to be ready to pay off? Good grief, that even confused ME ... E.g., in my own Springfield, willie's shack is not due for its next payout for a couple more hours. Would a friend visiting my Springfield need to wait for that?

Also, is this the category I should be asking this specific stuff in or is there a more appropriate place in the forum?

Tapping on a friend's building resets the timer until the next pay. So for you to tap on it, it has to already be ready.

Think of it like this:
When you're not playing the game, your buildings are still counting down. Once they're ready, they stop counting until you play and tap on them. Your friends can reset that counter by going into your town and tapping while you're away, while still letting you collect the amount it paid.

So, you should always try and tap the most expensive buildings for your friends where you can.

Edit: Let's use this as an example. You go to sleep at 10pm at night, and your white house (24 hour timer) finishes its timer at 10pm. Say you wake up at 6am and tap your white house, it will give you the money and then be ready at 6am the next morning.

If a friend of yours taps your house at, say, 11pm, you'll collect your money when you tap at 6am, and your house will be ready to be collected at 11pm that night instead of 6am the next day.

It has to be ready to collect. No matter what YOU tap YOU get the same amount but you reset the timer for your friends so say you tap a blue house which pays every 8 hours and your friend doesn't return for 8 more hours, they will now get a double pay out on the blue house you tapped making you a great neighbor. After you tap 3 buildings you get and extra 25 xp from each town you visit per day

EDITED TO ADD: is there some sort of way for me to know which properties have been clicked on so I know what times they're reset to? Or will all of this become readily apparent when it happens? (Patience, Annette. Patience.) :)

with halloween you wanna tap any building that is NOT already haunted or you steal your neighbors reward. Outside of halloween the only ones you can tell if someone tapped are School, Police Station, Town Hall and Moes since those buldings get spray painted. Despite some people claims it is GOOD to spray a building in a neighbors town but not clean it. those buildings don't normally pay out but it pays to clean for your neighbors so good thing. If you clean it however you steal their reward. Only clean the ones in your own town.

Can I also add that if you want to get the Halloween rewards, it's best to start adding people now. But be careful who you add. Some of the people on the add me threads already have 100 friends and you will get an error. That's how you will know. Also, always check the forums. There's a lot of good tips to be found here. Also if you need lots of friends post in a couple of add me thread. When I did that I got 60-70 friends in a day. Not bad :lol:
