The other one returns topics from ALL the forums in EA. The general discussion forum returns topics in this forum. Also, be specific in your search request. The search query is touchy.
However, as MD stated, you've asked questions that are answered in multiple threads so this isn't really a duplicate request lol.

I use the search feature for the general discussion, not the other one, but the return is only as good as how you word something. I know I have looked for things that I know are answered, but just cannot find it, so not solely faulting the search as much as user as well.
