New Event Idea: Springfield Movie Festival
An idea for a major event in 2019, a movie festival hits Springfield! Citizens cobble together to produce an award-winning film during the three acts.
Act 1 - Mild, Mild East (parody of Wild West films)
Act 2 - Hi-Five (parody of Sci-Fi/B-Movies)
Act 3 - Super Happy Fantastical Fun-Time Movie (parody of Japanese anime movies)
At launch start, after completing the quick intro questline, we'd place the Film Set down, and get our free character; Llewellyn Sinclair. Also, coming bundled with it is the Filmmaker Lisa costume. It's Llewellyn and Lisa's job in each Act to make the best movie they can using the props and characters they have. This event will operate much like the Springfield Jobs event. Once all neccessary props and characters have been obtained through the prize track, the movie will be filmed and then can be viewed via clicking on the Film Set.
Crafting will operate like the Moe's Ark event. Once they hit the shop, they can be purchased for IGC. The tappable NPCs in the event will give you film reels, which are needed to advance through the prize track to obtain the necessary props and characters to complete the shoot. Assembling the needed props around the Film Set will boost the percentage rating, and grant the player more Film Reels when tapping the Movie Fans.
A subplot of this event is Mr. Burns and Smithers trying to sabotage the movie by inserting Burns into the movie to make him be the hero and take all the praise and acclaim. Lisa and Llewellyn see this and put up more intricate countermeasures to stop the two in their tracks.
It's a bunch of different events wrapped up in one. Wild West, Sci-Fi, Destination Springfield.
