Not a happy tapper

Had over 600 donuts ... A few days ago, I was using the Unemployment office to send my people (about 90) on a 12-hour job. I accidentally double tapped the tab. Somewhere the confirm donut spend got turned off. So when I double tapped I hit the rush all jobs this spent all by donuts.

Sent in a help request, EA says (more or less) says too bad here is 20 donuts for the inconvenience caused.

So I will not be spending any more money on this game. Too bad because I have been having fun tapping way.
  • It doesn't seem to be a fare amount since it is such a large transaction. I think they should go by what it costs to buy in game currency. So for 30 donuts you buy 71,250 cash or 65 donuts you buy 171,000 cash therefore if I rush my simpsons characters I would make 80,000 for 8hrs tasks so it should cost me about 32 donuts not 940 donuts if I double tapped.

I don't believe EA turns it off on purpose. Mine hasn't been turned off in years. Doesn't mean it couldn't happen I suppose. We used to have someone remind everyone after any update to check the donut confirm button was still on. So that said check to make sure it's turned on after each update? I do not do this but mine never turns off and my cancel button still works.

    JC:

I believe they still put it in the strategy thread

Hate to say it but ignorance isn't a get out clause. I.e. if a local authority changes a speed limit and you get caught speeding does it make it their fault that you didn't know??

That isn't a relevant example. If a local authority changes a speed limit there is a process they have to go though and they have to inform road users of the change.

If the donut confirm is turned off with out a players knowledge or by their choice then it is not fair and EA should take responsibility for any accidental donut use.

My point is ignorance isn't bliss. The option gets turned off, it doesn't make it ea's fault that the person spent donuts by accident much like you cannot complain that you got a ticket for not noticing a speed limit had changed.

    No still does't applie.

If the speed limit on a road is changed with out notifications at the point of use i.e. traffic signs then speeding tickets would be invalid.

An actual safe guard which would have prevented the purchase has been removed and there is not notification at the point of making donut purchases.

EA would not day they removed the donut confirm on purpose so at the very least this is the result of two accidental actions. With blame on both parties it would be reasonable for EA to nullify the transaction by returning the donuts. EA would be within their rights to remove the XP and IGC awarded something I am sure the OP would agree to.
